You sign a few papers. Someone hands you a set of keys. You take a few photos. Then you go home. But when you have waited for something for years, that small bunch of keys carries a lot more weight. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2026/08/IMG_0306.jpeg) Today, we finally got the keys to our home. It still feels a little strange writing that. For the last couple of years, this home existed mostly as numbers, documents, payment schedules, construction updates and countless conversations about what should go where. Then came the waiting. And more waiting. There were days when it felt like possession was still very far away. And then suddenly, we were standing there, looking at the same walls we had discussed so many times. This time, they were ours. 0:00 /0:52 1× ## From a booking receipt to a front door Buying a home is probably one of the few things where the emotional journey starts much before the physical one. The first payment doesn't feel like buying a house. The agreement doesn't feel like buying a house. The loan approval definitely doesn't feel like buying a house. Even watching the construction progress doesn't quite make it real. It becomes real when you stand at the entrance and someone says, "Here are your keys." That was the moment. I remember looking around the flat and thinking about how many decisions are still left. The interiors are still being worked on. There are things to fix, things to buy, things to understand and probably a long list of things we haven't even thought about yet. But that didn't matter much that day. For once, we weren't looking at it as a property. We were looking at it as home. ## A lot of people made this possible A home is rarely just the result of one person's effort. There are parents who support you, family members who listen to your endless discussions, people who help with decisions, and people who simply stay around while you figure things out. There are also the less glamorous parts. The paperwork. The payments. The home loan. The site visits. The measurements. The interior discussions. The WhatsApp messages. The "let's just check once more" visits. The small arguments about what should go where. All of it becomes part of the story. And now, after all of that, we have the keys. ## The beginning, not the end Getting the keys feels like an ending because it closes one chapter. But honestly, it feels more like the beginning. Now comes the fun part. Making this place ours. Choosing the lights. Getting the furniture right. Figuring out storage. Setting up the kitchen. Deciding what stays empty. Finding a place for all the things we somehow keep collecting. And eventually, one day, walking through the door without thinking about the EMI, construction or possession date. Just walking in because it's home. I don't know how long it will take for that feeling to fully settle in. Maybe it will happen the first night we sleep there. Maybe when we have our first meal there. Maybe when we get our first delivery addressed to the new home. Or maybe much later, when we return after a long day and realise that this is the place we're coming back to. For now, though, I'll take the keys. After all the waiting, planning and paperwork, they finally belong to us. **Our home. Finally.** ### Somewhere Between Then and Now URL: https://snayak.com/somewhere-between-then-and-now/ Last updated: 2026-08-09T19:00:16.000Z In December 2019, I came to Mumbai with just four pairs of clothes. The city was completely new to me. So were the people, the culture, and the pace of life. For the first year, we had almost nothing. Just a mattress, an induction cooker, and two fans that our landlord had provided. Two months after I arrived, the lockdown hit Mumbai. I was living in a COVID hotspot, with no way to go back home. And then there was the Mumbai heat. We didn't have an AC. At night, we would keep the windows open just to get some air. Most nights, we stayed awake until 5:30 or 6 in the morning because the room was simply too hot to sleep in. That was my life then. And today, I am just 10 days away from getting possession of my own house. When I look back, I don't think those difficult days were wasted. They were uncomfortable. Sometimes frustrating. Sometimes genuinely hard. But they also taught me things that comfort never could. Patience. Resilience. The ability to keep going when things don't go according to plan. Those experiences shaped me in ways I probably didn't realise at the time. And maybe that's why standing here today, waiting for the keys to my own home, feels like much more than just getting possession of a flat. It feels like seeing how far I've come. ### Wispr Flow, Can it Supercharge my Thinking Process? URL: https://snayak.com/wispr-flow-can-it-supercharge-my-thinking-process/ Last updated: 2026-07-12T08:01:44.000Z In recent days, I have noticed something strange about my behavior when I am writing something versus when I am speaking something. There is quite a gap in terms of speed, in terms of accuracy, and in terms of my thought processes. I am thinking of giving the dictation tools a try so that I can think more without writing it down. For that, I have started using one of the tools available in the market. That's called Wispr Flow. So far, my experience is pretty good. I can dictate almost 111 words per minute, and this has great accuracy as well. It gives me enough time to think without worrying about writing things down. For the next 14 days, I'll be trying out that tool. I'll be checking how easy it is to use, what the privacy-related concerns are, and everything, and whether I will be continuing on that or not. I'll keep you posted regarding the same. ### Some thing I hate the most these days URL: https://snayak.com/some-thing-i-hate-the-most-these-days/ Last updated: 2026-07-04T21:06:29.000Z My little girl is growing up. Over the last few weeks, she has started understanding different emotions and expressing them in her own way. One of those emotions is fear. As parents, the last thing we want is for her to be afraid of the world around her. But parenting has a funny way of putting you in situations you never imagined. Sometimes she becomes so determined that, in the moment, we end up saying things like, “Billi Mausi is coming,” or “The cockroach will come,” hoping she’ll listen. She does. And that’s the part that hurts. The way she looks at us when she hears those words is enough to make us question ourselves. We know she trusts us, and using that trust to create fear, even for a moment, doesn’t sit right with us. We don’t want her to grow up being scared of cats, insects, or anything else because of something we casually said during her childhood. We want her to be curious, confident, and brave, not obedient because she’s frightened. Parenting often feels like choosing between what works today and what is right in the long run. We’re still learning, and this is one of those lessons that has stayed with us. I just hope we find better ways to guide her, without teaching her to fear the world. ### Flow State is My Real Enemy URL: https://snayak.com/flow-state-is-my-real-enemy/ Last updated: 2026-07-01T13:48:23.000Z When I am working on something I am interested in, I often go into a flow state where time becomes irrelevant for me. I stop eating, sleeping, talking to others for hours. This happens when I am either learning something new or exploring things. I love working under pressure and in chaos. While it gives me an upper-hand, it also makes me vulnerable to burnouts. In last two years I have learned how to set boundaries for different activities. However, recently I started learning agentic coding using [OpenCode](https://opencode.ai/?ref=snayak.com) \+ [OpenRouter](https://openrouter.ai/?ref=snayak.com). First few days went fine. Then my small learning objectives started turning into a big project. Eventually I started adding logins, subscriptions, multiple dashboards deployments etc. It was very fascinating. But eventually I started forgetting flow of time. After my regular 7 to 5 job, I started putting 8-9 more hours on refining the product. I stopped spending time with my family. It was like I am in front of my laptop for around 18 hours a day. Realisation: This morning, while looking at my daughter, I realised whatever I am doing is wrong! I already have a job, I already have multiple responsibilities. I should spend my time more wisely. It doesn't mean, I will stop exploring new ideas, but need to learn where something is enough... when I need to stop exploring something. ### Spending the weekend in Fixing the bugs that never existed URL: https://snayak.com/spending-the-weekend-in-fixing-the-bugs-that-never-existed/ Last updated: 2026-06-28T12:57:37.000Z We all get 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. But we all spend our time differently. And that defines what kind of future we are going to have. Who might have red my past posts might have known that I spend 9 hours a day x 5 days a week on my 7-to-5 job, however I am spending majority of my weekends learning something new. This time I have greatly explored the agentic coding, experimented with OpenClaw, Claude Opus 4.8 and learnt some security best practices as well. ### Years to Build, Seconds to Break URL: https://snayak.com/years-to-build-seconds-to-break/ Last updated: 2026-06-27T21:00:56.000Z It takes years to build a relationship, but anger can damage it in a matter of seconds. When a person is angry, emotions often take control over reason. In those moments, they may say things they never truly mean and do things they later regret. Anger clouds judgment, making it difficult to think clearly about the consequences of words and actions. A harsh sentence spoken in a moment of rage can leave scars that apologies may never fully heal. Trust, respect, and emotional security are built slowly through countless conversations, shared experiences, and acts of care. Yet a single outburst can shake that foundation. That is why controlling anger is not about suppressing emotions. It is about giving yourself enough time to respond instead of react. A few moments of patience can prevent years of regret. Before speaking in anger, remember that words cannot be taken back. The person in front of you may forget what happened, but they may never forget how your words made them feel. Relationships grow through understanding and kindness, but they often break through unchecked anger. ### Bought my first ever iPhone Pro Models URL: https://snayak.com/bought-my-first-ever-iphone-pro-models/ Last updated: 2026-06-16T18:36:00.000Z I have been an iPhone user for almost a decade, but I have never owned a Pro model. Like many Indian buyers, I usually picked up the previous year's model and saved the difference. A phone, for me, has always been a tool, not something to show off. This time, however, I decided to buy the latest iPhone Pro Max. What makes this purchase different is not the device itself, but the mindset behind it. Over the years, I developed a habit of upgrading phones too frequently. Most of the devices I owned never stayed with me for more than a year. The iPhone 16 Plus was the exception. I held on to it longer, and it is still in excellent condition, now being used by my wife. With the Pro Max, I am making two commitments. First, no more annual upgrades. I intend to keep this device for at least the next three years. Second, I want to treat it exactly as what it is, a tool. Not an antique to be protected at all costs, and not a status symbol to be admired. A tool that should be used, enjoyed, and eventually replaced when its job is done. The only decision left is AppleCare+. I am still doing my research, but considering the cost of the device and the fact that I plan to keep it for the long haul, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss protection feels less like an expense and more like insurance for peace of mind. Sometimes the upgrade is not the device. It's the behaviour that comes with it. ### Health Is Wealth. I Heard It. I Ignored It. URL: https://snayak.com/health-is-wealth-i-heard-it-i-ignored-it/ Last updated: 2026-03-01T08:42:18.000Z Since childhood, we keep hearing one line again and again. **Health is wealth.** It sounds simple. Almost boring. Like something printed on a school wall chart. We hear it. We nod. We move on. Until the body sends the bill. I am 33 years old. Pretty young. Happily married. I have a baby and a loving family. A high-paying corporate job in a reputed MNC. Proudly a workaholic. From the outside, life looks sorted. From my side, it was slowly breaking. I have high cholesterol. High triglycerides. Grade 2 fatty liver. Type 2 diabetes. At 33. Doctors often look at my reports and then look at me with surprise. And honestly, it is my mistake. Nothing happened overnight. It was not one big disaster. It was many small daily decisions. Here are the mistakes I made. ## Ignoring Sleep This was my biggest mistake. I was proud that I could survive on two hours of sleep and still work non-stop. It felt like a superpower. Hustle culture had trained me well. The irony? No one asked me to do it. My managers actually told me to log off on time. They were concerned. But I ignored them. I thought pushing limits meant growth. I thought exhaustion meant dedication. I treated sleep like a waste of time. By mid-2025, my sleep cycle was completely disturbed. I could not sleep even when I wanted to. Stress increased. Energy crashed. Focus dropped. Cravings increased. Lack of sleep affects hormones. It worsens insulin resistance. It increases stress levels. Slowly, silently, it damages metabolism. I was not building resilience. I was building disease. ## Too Much Diet Soda Just because something says “Diet” does not mean it is healthy. By the end of 2024, I was drinking around six cans a day. Six. It tasted good. It gave a quick dopamine hit between meetings. It felt harmless because it had no sugar. But here is what I ignored. Artificial sweeteners can increase cravings. They can disturb insulin response in some people. They keep your brain addicted to sweetness. They do not fix unhealthy habits. They only mask them. Did diet soda alone cause my weight gain? Not necessarily. But it supported a lifestyle that was already unhealthy. And when weight increases, triglycerides rise. Fat accumulates in the liver. Insulin resistance worsens. Nothing dramatic. Just slow damage. ## Ignoring Water This sounds small. Almost silly. But I barely drank water. Coffee was normal. Diet soda was constant. But plain water? Rare. I never felt “thirsty,” so I assumed I was fine. That was another mistake. When you do not drink enough water, fatigue increases. Headaches feel normal. Hunger signals get confused. Sometimes what feels like a craving is just dehydration. Instead of drinking water, I opened another can. Dehydration also affects digestion, energy levels, and overall metabolic function. When the body is already stressed from poor sleep and high sugar intake, low hydration only makes things worse. Water is boring. It has no taste. No dopamine spike. No branding. But it is basic maintenance. And I ignored the basics. ## Ignoring Weight Gain I gained around 6 kg. Instead of taking it seriously, I adjusted my clothes. Weight gain is not just about appearance. It is often the first visible signal of metabolic imbalance. But I convinced myself it was normal. After all, I was “busy.” Busy is a convenient excuse. ## Sedentary Lifestyle Long sitting hours. Minimal movement. No structured exercise. Corporate life makes inactivity look normal. Meetings. Screens. Calls. Deadlines. But the body is not designed to sit for 8 to 10 hours daily. Movement is not optional. It is biological. ## Ignoring Early Warning Signs Burning sensation in the chest. Gas. Rapid heart rate. Fatigue. Disturbed sleep. Instead of correcting habits early, I kept looking for temporary fixes. Tablet for acidity. Ignore the rest. We often treat symptoms. We rarely question lifestyle. ## Overconfidence About Youth I believed serious lifestyle diseases happen after 45. Not at 33. That assumption cost me. In reality, early-onset Type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, and lipid disorders are becoming common in India due to poor sleep, stress, processed food, and sedentary work. I was not unlucky. I was careless. ## Linking Productivity With Self-Worth This was the silent mistake. I linked my value to how much I could work. Rest felt like weakness. Logging off early felt like underperforming. Saying no felt irresponsible. But the body does not care about performance reviews. It cares about recovery. And I gave it none. # What I Am Changing Now I cannot undo the past. But I can stop repeating it. Sleep is non-negotiable now. Minimum seven hours. Laptop closed. No late-night heroics. Diet soda is almost eliminated. Not because it is evil. But because six cans a day was clearly lack of control. Daily walking is added. Nothing extreme. Just consistent movement. The goal is not abs. The goal is metabolic stability. Food choices are more intentional. Sugar monitored. Carbs controlled. Protein increased. Medication taken properly. Reports tracked regularly. Most importantly, I am fixing my mindset. Rest is not weakness. Saying no is not laziness. Logging off on time is not lack of ambition. Health is not a side project. It is the foundation. Because what is the point of earning well, building a career, and providing for family, if the body carrying all this is collapsing quietly? I used to think I was building success. Now I understand something deeper. Without health, everything else is fragile. And this time, I am not waiting for another warning sign. ### How Does It Feel to Outgrow Your Anger? URL: https://snayak.com/how-does-it-feel-to-outgrow-your-anger/ Last updated: 2025-12-27T06:56:30.000Z My close friends and family know this about me. I used to have a serious anger problem. I have seen people who never accept their mistakes and are quick to blame others. I am grateful I never went down that path. When I look back honestly, most of the problems I faced in life did not come from circumstances or people around me. They came from my own anger and impulsive reactions. For the last six years, I have worked consciously on my anger. I would not say it disappeared. I still get angry. The difference is awareness. I can see it rising now. I can slow it down. Sometimes, I can even channel it into something useful instead of letting it explode in the wrong direction. Impulse control, however, was a tougher battle. Anger gives signals. Impulse does not. It arrives suddenly and demands action before thought has a chance to catch up. Many of my regrets came not from anger itself, but from acting too fast while emotions were still loud. That shift began when I started applying Stoic principles to my life, even sometimes unknowingly. Stoicism did not make me emotionless or detached. It gave me something far more practical. A pause. A small space between what I feel and what I do next. In that space, I learned to question my reactions. Is this within my control? Will this matter tomorrow? Is my response helping or just releasing pressure? That pause changed everything. Today, I still feel anger. I still feel impulse. But they no longer control my actions the way they once did. I have learned, growth is about building the awareness and discipline to respond better when they show up, and not about eliminating flaws. And honestly, that is what real control feels like. ### Trying to Understand My Overthinking URL: https://snayak.com/trying-to-understand-my-overthinking/ Last updated: 2025-12-06T10:52:00.000Z I feel that I am overthinking on a lot of things. Sometimes even the smaller ones that do not deserve this much space in my mind. It has reached a point where I catch myself thinking about something long after it is over. I am trying to understand why this is happening so often. It feels like my mind is always switched on. Even when my body is at rest, my thoughts keep running. It almost feels like the mind has confused overthinking with actual work. Instead of helping me solve anything, it keeps looping the same thoughts. That is the part that bothers me the most. So I am trying to identify the cause of it. There must be something behind this constant noise. It might be worry, pressure, or fear of messing up. I am not sure yet, but I want to be aware instead of letting it grow quietly. These are a few steps I am planning to take. 1. I will document the moments where I notice myself overthinking. Even small ones. 2. I will look for the pattern and the trigger point. Something must be setting it off. 3. I will work on the emotion behind that trigger. If I can fix the emotion, the cycle might slow down. I want to understand what my mind is trying to do. Maybe it is trying to protect me. Maybe it is holding on to old habits. Either way, I want to train it to rest. I want to feel lighter. This is my first attempt to bring some peace back into my day. ### Testing Out My Custom Blogging Setup URL: https://snayak.com/testing-out-my-custom-blogging-setup/ Last updated: 2025-12-07T14:54:28.000Z Recently, I am looking for the simplest way to share my thoughts with the world. Something that's pretty barebones, easy to manage, no ownership drama, and completely under my control. I thought of many options like WordPress (it has the owner drama going on), GhostCMS (which is actually the one I use now), even tried with a simple markdown blog. While the markdown based blog is worked perfectly fine for me, it was pretty barebones. While it was very simple to maintain the only challenge was, I need to have access to GitHub to host the markdown files. Plus, it was pretty manual for me. Hence, I decided to turn the markdown based blog into a database connected blogging platform, where I can freely share what is in my mind. But the point is, *is it worth spending time reinventing the wheel?* I could have done other things which might have added more value. I already have a lifetime GhostCMS (MagicPages managed instance), I know this is not truly lifetime and only valid until the business is there, but this service is something I can truly trust. So I have decided, I am going to focus more on sharing my thoughts instead of building new platforms, and focus sharing my thoughts on the Ghost blog. ### AI Turned Simple Decisions Into Mini Research Projects URL: https://snayak.com/ai-turned-simple-decisions-into-mini-research-projects/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T03:34:45.000Z Lately I have started doubting even the smallest choices. Earlier I would open Google, skim two links, take a call, and move on. Life felt lighter. Now the same routine has turned into a long ritual. One question becomes ten tabs, ten tabs become endless comparisons, and before I know it I am stuck in a loop of finding the “perfect” answer. It feels like analysis paralysis has slowly become a default state. I see the same pattern everywhere. Friends, coworkers, even senior managers. A question appears and our hands automatically reach for an AI app. Curiosity was never the enemy. The issue is when your mind stops taking the first step without a digital nudge. This dependence looks harmless. It feels productive. But it quietly takes away something important. Confidence. The belief that you can think on your own without running every thought through a tool first. And that, honestly, scares me more than any wrong decision ever did. ### Is My Note-taking System, Actually a Productivity Killer? URL: https://snayak.com/is-my-note-taking-system-actually-a-productivity-killer/ Last updated: 2025-11-26T12:12:06.000Z I was randomly going through some videos on how can I improve my note taking skills, and I saw a video on YouTube mentioning people like Elon Musk, Naval Ravikant don't really take notes as in we do with different note-taking system. Rather they prefer the raw chaos, and do a kind of public note-taking on X instead of maintaining a common place book or a fancy journal. In one of the interviews, Naval mentioned, Note-taking is like clicking photographs while travelling – you capturing the moment, but not really enjoying it. He emphasizes our memory should be capable enough to distinguish what is important to us. He also puts a lot of emphasis on driving knowledge from the basics rather than archiving it. After that, I went ahead and used Grok to do a quick research and got to know that achievers like Elon, Naval focus more on doing things that are import than archiving things they would never need. The key takeaway from me over here is to keep things very minimal, and to keep only things that are needed. I completely understand I am not these great people, my mind works differently than how their minds perform. So I can not directly copy-paste their style. Instead of that, I can revisit my ways of working, check where things are going out of the hand, fix those and re-evaluate in a few days. ### Minimizing My Digital Footprint URL: https://snayak.com/minimizing-my-digital-footprint/ Last updated: 2025-11-26T13:30:12.000Z For the last few months, I have significantly reduced my digital footprint. Next, I will target my social media accounts. In the next couple of months, I plan to remove most personal details from platforms like Facebook and Instagram. My motive is not absolute anonymity, but greater privacy and eliminating the behavioral profile data available about me online. Running after online money, fame, etc is fine, in face it reduces a lot of financial burden. But sometimes I feel it comes with a cost. And the cost is my privacy. Not only mine, but for the people I love and care about. I don't want my small mistakes to backfire on my friends and families. These days, malicious actors can utilize largely available behavioral data on us, that is available online and perform scams, frauds, identity theft, and with AI in picture, I can only see this rising on a daily basis. I am worried about it, and I need to act before it is too late. ### Choosing Silence When No One Asked URL: https://snayak.com/choosing-silence-when-no-one-asked/ Last updated: 2025-11-26T13:38:36.000Z Somewhere in my head there is a tiny anchor voice that says, **“Go on, jump in. Add your two cents.”** And most days, before I even realize it, I am already halfway into a discussion where no one asked for my opinion. It is not my arrogance. It is a strange mix of curiosity, the urge to be useful, and a fear that silence means invisibility. But the truth is, not every conversation is my job to fix. Not every debate needs my logic. And not every moment requires me to step in. I am slowly learning this. There is a quiet power in letting things unfold without my involvement. It feels uncomfortable at start, like standing outside a familiar room and choosing not to enter, but it is teaching me restraint. There is also a deeper lesson here. When I insert myself everywhere, I drain myself everywhere. I spread my attention too thin. I walk into conflicts I did not create. I pick up responsibilities that were never mine. Then later I wonder why I feel exhausted. These days I try to let the urge pass. I sit with it for a minute. I remind myself that contribution is meaningful only when it is welcomed. ***Silence does not make me less capable. It just means I am choosing where my energy goes.*** Maybe this is what growing up looks like. Accepting that being right is not the same as being required. Understanding that peace sometimes comes from stepping back, not stepping in. And learning that my voice is stronger when I use it at the right time, in the right place, for the right people. ### Anika’s First Birthday Celebration URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-first-birthday-celebration/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:23:36.000Z Anika turned one today, and the whole house felt brighter than usual. We had planned a small celebration, but the balloons, lights, and colors made it look much bigger. The backdrop had her name glowing in warm light, and the big number one stood right beside her. She walked into the room, looked at everything, and smiled like she already knew the day was for her. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/IMG_2630-1-1.jpeg) Her pink birthday dress made her look even smaller and sweeter. She kept laughing while looking up at the lights, as if they were doing some secret magic trick just for her. I stood there watching her enjoy the colors, and for a moment, everything else faded. One full year. It still feels unreal. We clicked a lot of photos. Some with just the three of us, some with friends, and some with all the kids who ran around the house like they owned the place. Anika looked a little confused when everyone gathered for the cake, but she stayed calm in Lovely’s arms. The cake looked nice, full of colors and small "Cocomelon" design that kids love. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/IMG_2639-1.jpeg) Seeing our friends around her felt good. Everyone had their own small moment with her, either a smile, a touch on her cheek, or just a small comment about how fast she had grown. And it is true. This one year went fast. Too fast. From her tiny newborn days to her first steps, everything passed in a way that feels impossible to catch unless you pause. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/IMG_2619-1-1.jpeg) Today was not about a big celebration. It was about seeing her happy, seeing Lovely smile, and feeling grateful that we made it through this year with so many small memories. The photos show balloons and lights, but for me, the best part was her laughter. The way she looked up, opened her mouth wide, and laughed without any reason. That is the moment I want to remember. Her first birthday felt soft, colorful, and full of small emotions that stayed even after the guests left. A simple day, but a big milestone for all three of us. ### Bringing Out My Own Voice Instead of Chasing Vitality URL: https://snayak.com/bringing-out-my-own-voice-instead-of-chasing-virality/ Last updated: 2025-11-26T13:58:59.000Z I have been posting on X since last couple of years consistently. I mean the posting schedule is consistent, not the topic. When I got started with the platform, back then it was called Twitter, I was mostly posting tech updates. Until 2018, I continued the same and that account of mine had reached 10k followers. Later, I noticed most of the engagement I was getting was from people outside India, people I don't know. Hence I decided to start posting in my regional language, and interacting with my regional people. I deleted that 10k account and created a new one. Eventually I got the traction and I got around 2k followers within a few months. Then the COVID-19 hit in, and some of my posts really went viral. Then there was a time, where the regional politics, group hate etc. became unbearable for me. It's because back then I was taking action based on my emotions, not based on logical thinking. I decided to stay back, I went MIA on the platform for a year or so. When I returned, I noticed most of the people I knew of, have already left or not engaging much. So I decided to switch back to interacting with global audience. I started interacting with tech audience, crypto bros, NFT bros (yes, I was invested in NFTs for a while). I have switched my niche 4-5 times in last couple of years, tried all the ways others are going viral. Tried copying other's strategies. But it's enough now. I have already spent a lot of effort on trying to be someone I am not. From now onwards, the ideas, the content I post, the things I say, would be based on my thought process, and not something that can go viral. ### Am I Writing for Myself or for the Algorithm? URL: https://snayak.com/am-i-writing-for-myself-or-for-the-algorithm/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T03:43:16.000Z These days my head feels crowded. Too many questions about what to post and what to avoid. Whether I should chase all these monetization programs or just write because I want to write. Medium earnings, X revenue, Meta bonuses. There is always some new scheme promising growth if you only say the right things. And without realizing, we start saying the “right things”. Not our things. At least that is what happens to me. I begin with something genuine. A thought I want to share. A feeling that needs space. Then the likes come, the shares come, and suddenly that small hit of dopamine starts guiding the next post. I start repeating the topics that perform well, even if they are not the ones I deeply care about. Slowly the work drifts away from the original intent. One day I look back and see I have walked far from where I started. Instead of sharing my inner world, I am running a part time factory that manufactures content for the audience. And honestly, I know many people who go through the same cycle. We experiment, we chase one format after another, and hope something sticks. But I feel I have reached my limit. I already have enough platforms to manage. A Ghost blog for my technical work. Another blog for my personal life and thoughts. X and Threads for quick updates and memes. A sleepy Quora account on the side. When I list it out like this, it looks less like creative freedom and more like a second job. Another set of expectations to meet after office hours. Even on Medium, I found myself slipping into the same trap. So here is the real question, both to myself and to you. Should I chase a niche that performs well and guarantees views? Or should I show up as myself, write what feels true in that moment, and allow people to read the unfiltered version instead of the curated one? Because if writing stops feeling like me, what is the point of any of this?[](https://medium.com/tag/self-improvement?source=post%5Fpage-----452888694ccb---------------------------------------) ### Anika Turns Eleven Months URL: https://snayak.com/anika-turns-eleven-months/ Last updated: 2025-11-14T16:47:55.000Z Anika turned eleven months today, and Lovely took full control of the photos. She spread a deep magenta bedsheet on the floor and arranged the number eleven using colorful blocks. The whole setup looked bright and playful, just like Anika these days. No heavy decoration, only toys and colours that already belong to her world. Anika wore a yellow dungaree set, and the moment we placed her on the sheet, she grabbed the ball like it was part of some grand plan. She kept shifting between the small red ball and the big multicolored one, as if she was testing which one made her look more serious for the camera. Lovely clicked away while Anika did her own thing, completely unaware that this was supposed to be a photo moment. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/IMG_4259-1.jpeg) The funny part is that the best photos came when she was not trying at all. Her wide smile, the way she held the ball close, the tiny headband slightly tilted to the side, everything looked natural. She kept turning back, picking toys, and then looking at us as if she was asking whether she was doing it right. Watching Lovely capture these moments felt nice. She was fully in the zone, fixing angles, adjusting Anika’s position, and making sure the blocks forming the number eleven stayed in place. Anika kept kicking them off, which made us laugh more than it annoyed us. That is how most of these monthly photos go. A plan, a little chaos, and then one frame that makes the whole effort worth it. Eleven months. Almost a full year. She is changing fast, and every new photo somehow looks different from the last one. I used to think these monthly shoots were just cute memories, but now they feel like small checkpoints of her journey. A way to pause and look at how much she has grown without making it a big moment. Today felt light. Just toys, colour, Lovely behind the camera, and Anika giving us those smiles that stay with you longer than you expect. ### Ten Months of Growing With Anika URL: https://snayak.com/ten-months-of-growing-with-anika/ Last updated: 2025-11-14T16:41:38.000Z Today felt special in a quiet way. Anika completed ten months, and we kept it simple at home. Lovely and Gudi took charge of the setup. They spread a blue bedsheet and made the number ten with jasmine flowers. It looked nice, not over the top, just a small effort filled with love. I stood there watching the two of them arrange flowers while Anika sat in the middle, full of curiosity, trying to understand what was happening around her. She wore a small green dress with a matching flower clip. The moment we placed her on the bedsheet, she started touching the petals, moving them around as if she was helping. She did not cry or fuss today. She was calm, playful, and kept giving those random smiles that make everything else fade for a moment. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/anika_10th_month_2-1.jpg) Taking photos of a baby is a different challenge. Every time we positioned the camera, she turned her head in the opposite direction. Babies have perfect timing for mischief. But somehow the photos came out really nice. The lighting was soft, the dress suited her, and the jasmine flowers added a peaceful touch. While clicking her photos, we kept thinking about how fast these ten months have gone. It does not feel like ten months at all. It feels like ten minutes. She is growing every day. One new expression, one new sound, one new way of looking at things. And somewhere in this process, we are growing too. Parenthood is not one big dramatic moment. It is small shifts inside you that you understand only when you pause. Today reminded me to slow down and watch her grow. Work and stress will keep coming, but she will not be ten months again. Moments like these do not make noise, but they stay with you. ### Taken Biggest Purchase Decision of My Life URL: https://snayak.com/taken-biggest-purchase-decision-of-my-life/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T04:14:41.000Z For months, one question kept circling in my head like a slow fan on a humid night. Should I buy a flat now? Or wait? Am I even going to stay in Maharashtra long enough for this to make sense? On the surface it looked like a real estate decision. But inside, it was about something bigger. Commitment, and stability. How I see my future. And whether the timing of my life matched the timing of the market. I have this habit of thinking deeply about big decisions. I don’t rush, especially when the choice will shape the next decade. So every time the idea of buying a home came up, I stopped and ran the full simulation in my mind. Scenarios. Risks. Pros and cons. How it affects my family. My finances. My lifestyle. Everything. What I didn’t want was to buy because others were buying. I didn’t want my biggest purchase to come from FOMO or some silent social pressure. I needed a strong personal reason. A “why” that stayed steady even on the days I felt confused. Some days I felt sure. Other days, everything felt uncertain again. But clarity rarely arrives like a big announcement. It comes slowly. Quietly. A thought here, a realisation there. And over the last few weeks, things started aligning. The timing made sense. My doubts softened. The decision felt less heavy. So yes, after all the overthinking, we finally did it. We booked our new flat. The journey is still long. Registration, loan formalities, interiors, shifting. That entire chapter is ahead of us. But honestly, the hardest part was this moment. Saying yes. Allowing myself to believe that this is the right time for our family. I won’t call it a perfect decision. Perfection is a trap. I’ll call it a conscious decision. And right now, that feels more than enough. ### Why You Need to Build Your Online Presence on Your Own Platform URL: https://snayak.com/why-you-need-to-build-your-online-presence-on-your-own-platform/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T04:12:33.000Z We live in a time where our digital identity is shaped more by algorithms than by our own choices. What we post, what we see, even what we feel tempted to buy, all of it is quietly influenced by systems built by a handful of companies. And most of the time, these systems are not working for us. In the beginning it feels harmless. You share a post, get a few likes, scroll through trending topics, maybe stumble upon a product you never planned to buy. But slowly the convenience starts to look like control. The platform, not you, decides who sees your work. It pushes engagement over meaning, quick reactions over thoughtful ideas. You can create something honest, yet it disappears in the feed simply because it doesn’t match the platform’s mood that week. Even your money isn’t untouched. Search for something once and it follows you everywhere. Ads trail you across apps, nudging you until your mind shifts from “maybe” to “why not”. None of this is an accident. It is designed persuasion. This is the real danger of building your identity on rented land. You don’t own your audience. You don’t own your reach. One algorithm change or policy update is enough to make your presence vanish overnight. But things shift the moment you own your platform. A personal blog, a newsletter, a simple website. These give you control. You decide what stays, how it looks, and who reads it. No algorithm hiding your work. No silent penalty because you didn’t post for a week. Just a direct line between your voice and the people who care. Social platforms can support you, but they should never be your foundation. A home you control is stable. Quiet. Yours. The internet has space for everyone. Make sure at least one corner of it belongs to you. ### You Don't Really Need A Plan URL: https://snayak.com/you-dont-really-need-a-plan/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T11:15:37.000Z So often, we find ourselves waiting for the "right moment" to start something new. We wait for the perfect opportunity, the alignment of stars, or for everything to feel just right. But what if it's not about waiting for the right moment at all? What if true progress comes from simply getting started; right where we are, with what we have? We spend so much time crafting elaborate plans, hoping they'll guarantee success or eliminate uncertainty. Yet many of life's most meaningful journeys don't begin with a detailed roadmap. They begin with a single, small step forward. The truth is, action creates momentum. Even if you don't have every detail worked out, moving ahead can reveal opportunities and insights you would never have discovered otherwise. Plans can always evolve, but you can't edit or improve what you haven't yet begun. So, don't worry about having everything figured out. Start now. Trust yourself to adapt and grow along the way. ### Why a Different Blog When I Already Have One? URL: https://snayak.com/why-a-different-blog-when-i-already-have-one/ Last updated: 2025-12-09T11:37:17.000Z Have you ever felt everything was going fine, yet a small voice kept telling you to start fresh? That is what pushed me to create this new blog. My main blog has carried my work stories and leadership lessons for years, but I realised my personal thoughts were getting lost there. Two identities in one space was becoming noisy. I wanted a place where I could write freely without thinking about tone or categories. A clean page. No pressure. No overthinking. If a thought is personal, it comes here. If it is professional, it stays on the other blog. Simple. This space will hold my everyday reflections and small stories, while the main blog continues with growth and work insights. If you have been part of my journey, I hope you join me here too. Here is to new beginnings and writing that feels honest. ### Becoming a Father and Positive Changes URL: https://snayak.com/becoming-a-father-and-positive-changes/ Last updated: 2025-07-21T18:04:14.000Z Becoming a first-time father changed me in ways I never could have predicted. The first moment I held my daughter, I felt my world shift. There was joy, but there was something else too, a deep sense of responsibility and an urge to be better than I was yesterday. Every day since her birth feels like a new beginning. I am learning to wake up early, not because I have to, but because I want to be there for her first smile of the morning. My priorities are different now. The things that used to stress me out feel smaller next to the importance of being present for my child. Even small tasks, like preparing a bottle or changing a diaper, have meaning. They are little acts of love. Having a daughter taught me to embrace my softer side. I find myself more patient and gentle. Sometimes I see her watching me, and it makes me think about the man I want her to remember. I want her to see kindness, curiosity, and resilience. Fatherhood isn’t about becoming someone new. For me, it is about uncovering the best parts of myself, and wanting to grow, every single day, because she is watching. ### The Voice in My Head Saving My Wallet URL: https://snayak.com/the-voice-in-my-head-saving-my-wallet/ Last updated: 2025-07-21T17:50:19.000Z Lately, I’ve noticed a quiet new presence in my mind. It feels like someone inside my head is gently stopping me from making impulse purchases. The sensation is a bit unusual, as if there is a calm advisor who steps in every time I feel tempted to buy something I do not really need. It used to be different. I would see a tempting sale or a shiny new gadget, and I’d find myself reaching for the “Buy Now” button almost instantly. Now, before I act, a thought appears and asks whether I really need it. Instead of making me feel bad, this voice helps me pause and reflect. Often, I set my phone aside and, after a few minutes, I forget what had caught my interest in the first place. There is no sense of loss, only relief. I wonder if this is a sign of growing up, learning from past mistakes, or simply being tired of clutter and buyer’s regret. Whatever the reason, I am grateful for this change. My decisions feel more deliberate, my mind feels lighter, and my wallet is a little heavier. ### Anika at nine months URL: https://snayak.com/anika-at-nine-months/ Last updated: 2025-11-14T15:57:22.000Z Nine months with her feels like living inside a soft, noisy, colorful bubble. Every day she does something tiny that somehow becomes the highlight of the house. The latest photoshoot happened because Lovely had another idea in her head. She arranged chocolates into the number nine, dressed Anika in a bright pink outfit, and placed her right next to it. I stood there thinking, only a child can pull off sitting beside a pile of toffees without looking confused about the concept. She kept grabbing wrappers, shaking them like they were treasures, and giving us this serious face whenever we tried to take them back. This month, Anika has become more curious. Not restless, just aware. She looks at objects as if she is trying to figure out their purpose. She looks at us in the same way sometimes, which hurts the ego a little because she stares like she is evaluating our choices. Her confidence while sitting has improved. She leans forward, reaches for things that are slightly far, and has this proud look when she manages to grab something. The house feels different now because she notices everything. A sound. A color. A small movement. Nothing passes without a reaction. What changed for me is harder to explain. I feel more tuned into her rhythm. She wakes up, looks around slowly, and when her eyes land on us, she gives this half-smile that feels like a personal achievement. It is strange how such a small gesture can calm down a whole day. I also catch myself watching her more often. Not in the dramatic fatherhood way, but in a simple way. Just paying attention to how she grows. How she learns. How she depends on us without thinking twice. The next month will probably be more chaotic. She is already preparing to move faster, and we know the real activity is coming soon. For now, I am holding on to these quieter moments, the way she sits on the bedsheet surrounded by chocolates and looks like she is running her own festival. Nine months of Anika. The house feels fuller. My mind feels softer. And every small moment somehow turns into a memory we will talk about later. ### Anika turns eight months URL: https://snayak.com/anika-turns-eight-months/ Last updated: 2025-11-14T15:56:33.000Z Eight months. It still surprises me how quickly that number changed. One day she was this tiny baby who only knew how to cry, drink milk, and sleep. Now she looks at me with these curious eyes as if she is trying to decode the whole world. This month felt special. Not because something big happened, but because the small things finally started connecting. Her expressions. Her half-sitting posture. Her attempts to grab everything, including my glasses and my patience. ## The photoshoot that became a memory The setup you see in the pictures was done by Lovely. She had the whole plan in her head. Flowers, the number eight, the daisy dress, the bow, the maroon bedsheet, and Anika in the centre of it all. I just watched from the side thinking, this girl is lucky. Her mother and her Lovely bua put so much heart into these things. They see angles I usually miss. Anika kept looking at the camera like she was judging whether we deserve her attention. In most photos she looks calm, but we all know she gave us a solid workout during the shoot. Babies have this talent. They do nothing yet somehow leave adults exhausted. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/11/IMG_3450-1.jpeg) ## What changed this month This eighth month brought a shift in her presence. She reacts more. She recognises voices. She studies faces before smiling. She grabs my fingers with more intention. Her tiny hands feel stronger, like she is telling me she is slowly becoming her own person. There is a new softness in the routine. She wakes up, turns her head, searches for us, and gives this half-smile that makes everything worth it. Some days I look at her and wonder how such a small person can create so much purpose in a house. ## What I felt as a father With every passing month, I see how my priorities keep shifting. Work is still work, deadlines are still deadlines, but the emotional gravity in my life sits around this small girl. I also feel more responsible. Not in the dramatic way, but in a grounded way. When I look at her, I want to become a calmer person. A more patient person. Someone who gives her a world where she can grow without fear. These eight months taught me that parenting is not a big leap. It is a series of tiny adjustments. One day you give up late-night scrolling. One day you learn to eat faster. One day you stop getting irritated at small things because a baby is sleeping on your chest and nothing else matters. ## The month ahead I have no prediction for the ninth month. She might start crawling or she might continue giving us those suspicious looks during photo sessions. Either way, I am learning to enjoy her pace instead of forcing mine. Every month feels like a chapter. This eighth one was full of colour, flowers, and a lot of effort from her Lovely bua. And one day when Anika grows up and sees these photos, I hope she understands how loved she has been since day one. Eight months done. A lifetime to go. ### Lovely's 29th Birthday Highlights URL: https://snayak.com/lovelys-29th-birthday-highlights/ Last updated: 2025-05-07T23:41:08.000Z I have some updates around how we celebrated Lovely's birthday. This is a continuation of [what we discussed in my earlier post](https://snayak.com/celebrating-my-wifes-29th-birthday/). This is Anika celebrating her mom's birthday for the first time, we we had to make it memorable. At around 6:30 PM, we decided to have family dinner (of course, we three people only). The plan was to have a window shopping at nearby stores, then end the day with a nice family dinner. Still, we were little bit late while getting ready, hence skipped the window shopping. 0:00 /0:25 1× We went to Sheer-E-Punjab, where Anika enjoyed initially and we clicked some nice photos. And later, when we started having our dinner. After the dinner, we returned home, and to our surprise, it started raining, in the summer season. A birthday surprise for Lovely! ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/05/mom-daughter.jpg) ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/05/lovely-anika.jpg) We cherished the moment as we embraced the soothing rain, knowing it was Anika's very first experience with it. Holding her close in our arms, we stood by the window, sharing the joy of this beautiful spectacle together. 0:00 /0:10 1× As we reflected on the day, we couldn't help but feel grateful for these precious memories. Celebrating Lovely's birthday in such a unique way reminded us of the importance of family. It also made us appreciate the simple joys that make life special. We look ahead to many more celebrations filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. ### Celebrating My Wife's 29th Birthday URL: https://snayak.com/celebrating-my-wifes-29th-birthday/ Last updated: 2025-05-07T23:30:31.000Z The sixth of May means a lot to me. It’s my wife’s birthday. She turned twenty-nine today. And for the first time, we don’t have anything special planned. It’s not like I didn’t take a break from my corporate life. I did. We had a quiet cake-cutting moment. Not with a bunch of friends, because honestly, I don’t have many. Just the three of us — me, my wife, and our daughter. And I believe, in this phase of life, the best gift I could give her was my time. We got married pretty young. I was twenty-five and she was twenty-one. Today, that feels too early for many. I didn’t even have a stable job back then. But if there’s one thing I’ve never doubted, it’s that marrying her was the best decision I ever made. She has been my lightning rod through it all. For the last ten years, she has stood beside me without fail. During my bad days. During the good ones. During the times when my pockets were empty and hope felt far away. She stayed. Quietly, strongly, without ever making a big deal out of it. So, on her twenty-ninth birthday, I just wanted to pause for a moment. Thank you for all the love. Thank you for all the strength. Thank you for all the silent support she's given me. ### Comfort Over a Brand Name URL: https://snayak.com/comfort-over-a-brand-name/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:00:32.000Z Until a few years back, I used to be really confused about which brand to go for. I would spend a lot of time deciding which phone to buy, which clothing brand looks better, and which product people might like or admire. Somewhere, I believed that using branded stuff would make me feel better or look better in front of others. But over time, things changed. As I grew older, my thinking around brands and value also changed. Now, I still use Apple products. But not because of the logo or the brand name. I use them because the build quality is great, they last for years, and they just work well. It feels more like a one-time investment that saves me trouble later. When it comes to clothes and accessories, I’ve started preferring non-branded things—things that are comfortable to wear and still look good. I don’t care about the name tag anymore. I care more about how it feels and how long it stays good. I guess I’ve reached a point where comfort and quality matter more than what others think. And honestly, it feels better this way. ### I Wish Time Had a Pause Button URL: https://snayak.com/i-wish-time-had-a-pause-button/ Last updated: 2025-05-04T13:10:48.000Z I still remember the day we found out we were pregnant. That tiny strip changed everything. There was excitement, joy, nervous laughter, and this strange feeling inside me that wanted to fast forward life just to get a glimpse of our baby. But life doesn’t work like that. You can’t skip the wait, no matter how badly you want to. The months that followed felt slow. Not in a peaceful way, but in the kind of slow that comes with worry. I was constantly stressed about the baby’s safety. Every little thing would make me anxious, and I’d end up calling the doctor far more than I should have. Honestly, I think I nearly irritated her with all my questions. Lovely, on the other hand, stayed calm. At least that’s how it seemed. I never really understood how she managed it. Maybe it was her connection with the baby. Maybe somewhere deep inside, she was hearing a little voice saying, “Mama, I am ok.” I even told Lovely that I was planning to get a PlayStation. Not for fun, but just to keep my mind distracted when I wasn’t working. Anything to keep myself from overthinking. Those nine months dragged on. It felt like they would never end. But now, seven months into holding our baby in our arms, time feels like it is slipping away too quickly. Every day flies by. Every week vanishes before I can even process it. Sometimes, I wish I could just slow everything down. I want to enjoy every little moment, every tiny movement, every sound, every silly smile. I want to freeze time and live in these memories while they are still happening. Because I know one day, I’ll look back at all this and wonder how it all went by so fast. ### People I Admire and Look to for Advice URL: https://snayak.com/people-i-admire-and-look-to-for-advice/ Last updated: 2025-05-04T13:09:07.000Z With time, I’ve understood one thing clearly. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. You have all the ambition in the world. Still, it's easy to lose direction without the right people guiding you. I used to think I had to figure everything out on my own. But slowly, life showed me that real wisdom often comes from those around us. People who not always have perfect answers, but who carry a perspective shaped by experience, patience, and quiet resilience. These are the people I admire. The ones I listen to when I feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure. ## Rajashree, my anchor If there’s anyone who understands me without me saying a word, it’s Rajashree. She’s been the one constant voice of clarity in my loud and chaotic world. She doesn’t try to impress me with complex advice. She simplifies what I overcomplicate. I am worrying about ten different things in my head. She’ll simply ask, “Why don’t you take a break and just breathe?” Sometimes I think she hears the part of me even I ignore. She trusts life in a way that I deeply admire. Her connection with emotions is admirable. She manages pressure without showing it. Even in her silence, she gives me strength. And I can never thank her enough for that. ## My Father My father is not someone who sits you down to give lectures. He just lives in a way that teaches you. I’ve watched him handle tough times with a calm that I still struggle to learn. He doesn’t react. He responds. He doesn’t complain. He adapts. When I’m cornered by a difficult situation, I often ask myself, “How would he handle this?” And that one thought gives me clarity. His advice is not always spoken, but it’s always there. In how he shows up. In how he never gives up. In how he puts family before everything else. ## My Workplace Circle At work, I’ve met people who do not know they’ve been mentors to me. These are folks who stay composed during chaos, who listen before speaking, and who never pass the blame. I admire people like that. Not because they are loud or dominant, but because they are steady. Whenever I hit a roadblock professionally, I try to remember how they reacted in similar moments. It helps me take a breath, slow down, and look at the bigger picture. Not all learning needs to be formal. Some of the best advice comes when you are simply paying attention. ### Mentors Through Pages and Screens There are people I’ve never met, but whose voices have guided me on some of the toughest days. Naval Ravikant taught me to think independently. Ankur Warikoo made me believe that it's okay to show vulnerability in public. Robert Greene made me understand the importance of reading between the lines in any power dynamic. They don’t know I exist. But their words have shaped me. Whether through a podcast, a YouTube video, or a sentence in a book, they’ve helped me pause. They made me think and move forward with more clarity. When I look back, I realize I haven’t built this version of myself on my own. The people I admire have helped me construct it piece by piece, whether they knew it or not. Advice doesn’t always come with big words. Sometimes it’s in someone’s silence. Sometimes in a gesture. Sometimes in a quote that stays with you for years. If you have two or three people in your life whose presence makes you feel lighter, you are fortunate. They help you feel more grounded or more focused. I know I am. ### Morning Routine for Productivity: How I Bought Back My Day URL: https://snayak.com/morning-routine-for-productivity-how-i-bought-back-my-day/ Last updated: 2025-05-04T12:52:38.000Z Every morning tells a story. And if you start it right, the rest of the day tends to follow your lead. When I look back at the days I used to snooze through my alarm, scramble to check Slack, pour instant coffee into a half-clean mug, and call it a morning, it’s no surprise those days turned into a fog. No real progress, just firefighting. Work happened, but growth didn’t. I was always behind, not because I lacked ambition, but because I had no anchor. So I changed the game. Slowly. Not through a motivational video, but because I got tired of feeling like I was playing catch-up all the time. ## Why Morning Routines Matter More Than Motivation Motivation is great when it visits. But a morning routine? That’s discipline knocking at your door daily. Productivity doesn’t start with your to-do list. It starts with the first decision you make after waking up. I started with one simple promise to myself. No screen for the first 30 minutes. That alone changed my mornings drastically. No dopamine hit from notifications. No urgent email. Just quiet. Your brain craves clarity. If you serve it chaos in the first hour, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. A strong morning routine is your system. Not a trend. Not a hack. A system to help you perform consistently, regardless of how tired or unmotivated you feel. By investing in your mornings, you’re buying back time. You make fewer reactive decisions. You prioritize better. You feel more in control. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned after becoming a parent and managing a team, it’s this: control is productivity’s best friend. ## The Wake-Up Call: Finding Your Anchor Habit Before you try to do ten things in the morning, start with one that grounds you. For me, it was brushing and then drinking warm water with lemon. Simple. Not sexy. But powerful. That became my anchor. It told my body, "We’re up. We’re not reaching for the phone. We’re present." The best anchor habit is something so simple, you can do it even on your worst days. And when you do it enough times, it becomes automatic. Like brushing teeth. You don’t negotiate it. You just do it. I added to this habit slowly. A 5-minute stretching routine. Then a 10-minute journal entry. Eventually, a morning walk. Not all at once. Not with pressure. But with intention. The idea is not to build a perfect morning routine. It’s to build a sustainable one. Something that aligns with your current life stage. When Anika was born, I had to rebuild my routine from scratch. My mornings were no longer mine. So I pivoted. I did 10-minute versions of everything. That was enough to give me clarity. Don’t let perfection paralyze you. A half-baked morning routine done consistently is better than a perfect one you abandon in three days. ## Designing a Morning Routine That Actually Sticks The internet is full of templates. But real productivity begins when you design a routine that fits *you*, not the other way around. Start by listing the kind of mornings you hate. Maybe it’s rushing to work. Or missing breakfast. Or scrolling reels without realizing 45 minutes just vanished. Then, do the opposite. When I sat down to design mine, I kept it minimal. I didn’t want a checklist of 20 things. I wanted mental clarity, physical energy, and emotional calm. That’s it. So my structure looked like this: 1. Wake up at 7 AM 2. Hydrate and stretch 3. Spend 10 minutes reflecting or journaling 4. Take a walk or do light dumbbell workouts 5. Cold shower 6. Read something for 10 minutes 7. Have tea or breakfast, screen-free That’s roughly one hour. And it gives me more ROI than anything else I do all day. On days I skip it, I feel it. My brain feels foggy. My decision-making weakens. My communication gets sloppy. The best part? This routine grows with me. Some days, I do more. Some days, I just stick to the basics. But I never do nothing. ## The Role of Movement and Mindfulness in Morning Productivity Physical movement changes your mental state. And you don’t need a gym to prove it. When I first started waking up early, my energy was garbage. I’d sit with my journal, but my eyes would beg to shut again. Then I added movement. Game-changer. A light 10-minute walk. Some dumbbell swings. A few bodyweight squats. It’s not about burning fat. It’s about telling your body, “It’s time to show up.” Then comes mindfulness. For me, it wasn’t meditation with background chants. It was stillness. I’d sit on my balcony, look at the sky, and just breathe. I’d let the noise pass through me instead of reacting. Movement wakes your body. Mindfulness wakes your awareness. Together, they build emotional stamina. The kind you need to handle tough clients, unexpected work crises, and yes, baby tantrums. You can’t control how your day unfolds. But you can control how prepared you are. A productive morning builds your readiness, not your rigidity. ## The Trap of Over-Optimizing Your Mornings We’ve all fallen for it. The YouTube video with a thumbnail that screams, “5 AM Billionaire Morning Routine!” I tried it once. Woke up at 5\. Drank celery juice. Meditated. Did 100 push-ups. Read a book. All before sunrise. By 10 AM, I was dead. My meetings suffered. My brain was fried. And by 3 PM, I needed two naps. That’s the trap. You think more = better. But productivity isn’t about cramming tasks. It’s about clarity and energy. So here’s what worked for me: cut the fluff. If something drains you more than it energizes you, drop it. Your morning routine should feel like a warm-up, not a competition. Focus on the quality of your attention, not the number of tasks. One deep journaling session can do more for your productivity than five micro-habits you barely remember. And no, you don’t have to wake up at 5 AM to win. Your morning routine should align with your sleep cycle, not fight it. I work late nights, so 7 AM is early enough for me. If you work an early shift, maybe 5 AM is perfect. But don’t force it because someone on the internet said so. ## The Silent Killers of Productivity Hiding in Your Morning Let’s call them out. First: notifications. If your phone is the first thing you touch, you’re reacting before you’re even awake. That’s not productivity. That’s panic dressed as urgency. Second: decisions. Too many choices kill momentum. What to wear. What to eat. Whether to journal or walk first. Make these choices the night before. Mornings are for execution, not debates. Third: screen scrolling. It’s an invisible time thief. You think you’re just checking messages. Suddenly, it’s 45 minutes and you’re watching a dog baking a cake. Cut these three, and you’ll reclaim a massive chunk of mental bandwidth. My rule? No screen before 8 AM. Clothes and food are decided the night before. And no unnecessary decision-making till I’ve finished my morning routine. It’s boring. But boring wins. Especially when it comes to productivity. ## The Morning Routine Isn’t About Success, It’s About Sanity I don’t follow my morning routine to become a millionaire. I follow it to stay sane. It’s easy to think routines are for overachievers. But for me, it’s a way to manage anxiety. A way to feel grounded. A way to stay human while juggling deadlines, diapers, and dreams. When I don’t have a routine, the day runs me. When I do, I run the day. You won’t get it right from day one. You’ll miss days. Life will interrupt. But you always come back. Because you know it works. Start with one habit. Anchor it. Then build. You don’t need a guru. You just need to show up for yourself every morning. That’s how productivity starts. And one final thought: don’t compare your routine with someone else’s highlight reel. Build a morning that serves *your* life. Your energy. Your family. Your ambitions. The rest will follow. ### What Gives Me Direction in Life? It’s Simpler Than You Think URL: https://snayak.com/what-gives-me-direction-in-life-its-simpler-than-you-think/ Last updated: 2025-05-02T20:04:25.000Z For the longest time, I thought direction in life was something big. Something magical. Like one fine morning, I’d get a sign from the universe and boom, I’d know what I’m meant to do. That never happened. Instead, I figured it out slowly. Through small moments, hard lessons, and lots of confusion. Let me tell you what actually gives me direction in life. ## Things that give me direction ### Purpose: My Reason to Keep Going When I started working, my main goal was to survive. I had loans, credit card bills, and a job where money came months later. That pain gave me purpose. I told myself I never want to feel that helpless again. Now, life is different. I have a daughter, Anika, who reminds me every day why I need to keep moving. My purpose is no longer just survival. It is to grow, to create, and to make things better for her and Rajashree. ### Values: The Rules I Follow We all have things we believe in. For me, it’s honesty, learning something every day, and giving my best, no matter what. These values guide me when I don’t know what to do next. They help me stay on track even when the path isn’t clear. I may not have all the answers, but I know what I stand for. ### Vision: Something I Build, Not Find Earlier, I thought I needed a big dream before I could begin. But I was wrong. Vision comes after action, not before it. I started by sharing my thoughts, building small projects, writing blogs, and helping people. Bit by bit, I could see the bigger picture. Now I know where I want to go, but that clarity came only after I started moving. ### Pain: A Silent Guide The biggest turning point in my life came when my father had heart trouble. That one event made me grow up overnight. I had to take charge, stay strong, and think beyond myself. Pain isn’t something we want, but it teaches us faster than success ever could. My pain gave me clarity. It told me what really matters and what I must protect at all costs. ### People: My Real Motivation Honestly, I would not have come this far without my people. My wife, my daughter, my family — they keep me grounded. They are the reason I show up every day. I want to build something not just for myself, but for them. When I see Anika smile, everything else takes a back seat. That is enough reason to keep going. ## To end it simply Direction doesn’t always come with a plan. Sometimes, it comes with a problem. Sometimes, it comes from people. And sometimes, you only see it when you look back at the steps you’ve already taken. If you feel lost today, it’s okay. Just keep moving. One small step at a time. Because you don’t find your direction. You create it. ### Turned 33 Today: It’s Just Me, A Little Wiser, A Lot More Grateful URL: https://snayak.com/turned-33-today-its-just-me-a-little-wiser-a-lot-more-grateful/ Last updated: 2025-05-02T22:03:47.000Z So, I turned 33 today. There’s no grand celebration happening, no partying with background music from a reel, and definitely no “life update” on Instagram yet. But inside? It feels like a good day to pause. To breathe. To reflect. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/05/img_3175-924x1024-1.webp) Because 33 is not just another number. It’s not 30, when you officially leave behind the glorified twenties, and it’s not 35, where society starts checking your “maturity meter” more often. It’s this oddly satisfying middle lane where you’re still figuring life out, but you do it with a bit more clarity, less drama, and a better playlist. ### What’s Changed? At 23, I chased speed. At 33, I crave peace. There was a time when I thought success was loud—fancy titles, long hours, weekend hustle, zero sleep. But now? I understand that success can also look like a slow breakfast, a calm mind, a baby's smile (yes, thanks to Anika), and being mentally present when someone needs you. I've also stopped keeping score with people. I used to remember who forgot my birthday, who didn’t show up, who said what. Now, I remember who made me feel safe, who texted at 2 AM just to check in, and who laughs at my worst jokes. That’s growth, I guess. ### What Still Feels the Same? I still overthink. Still have bad hair days. Still feel like a beginner in many areas of life. But I also still believe people are inherently good, that chai fixes most things, and that it's okay to be a work in progress. The pressure to “have it all figured out” by 33? I’ve unsubscribed from that nonsense. Honestly, the only thing I want to figure out now is how to stay consistent with workouts and maybe finish that one book I started five months ago. ### My Hopes Moving Forward ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/05/81a7c50e-e678-48dc-97aa-6002de5f5d1c-1-1024x768-1.webp) If you ask me what I want from this year ahead, I’ll keep it simple: - More memories with family. - More deep conversations, less small talk. - More real moments, less filtered ones. - And the patience to handle whatever life throws my way without turning into a version of me I left behind. 33 doesn’t feel old. It feels earned. Every scar, every milestone, every late-night breakdown, it’s all part of the package. And today, I’m wearing it with quiet pride. No big declarations. Just a quiet smile, a full heart, and a promise to myself: Keep going. Keep growing. And never stop being real. ### The One Quote That Transformed My Perspective on Success URL: https://snayak.com/the-one-quote-that-transformed-my-perspective-on-success/ Last updated: 2025-05-02T20:08:01.000Z We all have certain words that stay with us. Some carry them from a favorite book. Some pick them up from a movie scene. For me, it's from something far more ancient and timeless. My guiding quote comes from the *Bhagavad Gita*: **"Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana."** (You have the right to work, but not to the fruits of the work.) I had heard this since childhood. It was often repeated in family discussions, especially during difficult times. Back then, it sounded like a philosophical idea meant for saints. I never thought it would play such a practical role in my day-to-day life. ## When Things Don't Go Your Way A few years ago, I was working hard. Every single day felt like a hustle. I stayed late, took up responsibilities, met deadlines, and made sure my work was solid. Still, there was no recognition. Promotions were postponed. Appreciation came with delay, if at all. It was frustrating. I started questioning myself. Why am I doing so much if nothing seems to come out of it? Should I stop trying so hard? Is all this effort even worth it? That was the point when this quote hit differently. It stopped sounding spiritual and started feeling practical. I realised what it was actually telling me. ## Focus on the Work, Not the Reward This line from the Gita does not ask us to give up our dreams. It simply says that we are only responsible for the effort we put in. The result is not always in our control. So I decided to flip the script. I stopped tying my happiness to outcomes. Instead, I started focusing on what I could control. That was my work ethic, my growth, my mindset, and how I showed up every day. Surprisingly, that shift changed everything. I became more peaceful. I became more productive. And eventually, the recognition and results started showing up too. ## A Quote That Keeps Me Grounded Even today, whether I am leading a team, writing a blog, or learning to be a better parent, I go back to this quote. It reminds me to keep giving my best and to stop obsessing over what I cannot control. It keeps me grounded. It keeps me moving. And most importantly, it keeps me honest with myself. If you are stuck right now or feeling like your efforts are not paying off, try living by this quote. It won’t make the struggles go away, but it will make them easier to deal with. ### When Do I Feel Most Productive? URL: https://snayak.com/when-do-i-feel-most-productive/ Last updated: 2025-04-28T22:08:50.000Z Productivity is a tricky thing. Everyone loves to talk about it, but very few actually understand it. Most of what you hear sounds good on paper. Wake up at 5 AM. Follow a 10-step morning routine. Drink black coffee. Journal. Meditate. Manifest your day. It is all good until life shows up and reality slaps you on the face. For me, productivity does not follow a fancy script. It is not tied to a particular hour that looks cool on Instagram. It is tied to a feeling. It happens when my mind is clear, my phone is silent, and nobody is pulling me in ten different directions. If I have to put a time on it, I feel most productive after 11 PM. When the world goes quiet. When the pressure to respond to every email and message disappears. When nobody expects an immediate answer. That is when my real work starts. That is when ideas flow without resistance. That is when the checklist turns into actual results. I have tried forcing myself into morning productivity because everyone kept saying mornings are magic. The truth is, I was just sitting there staring at my screen. I was fighting sleep. I pretended to be one of those "morning people" who look like they have it all figured out. It never felt natural. It never felt sustainable. It definitely never felt honest. Over time, I learned to stop fighting how I am wired. Productivity for me is about alignment, not struggle. It is about understanding my rhythm and working with it, not against it. Some days it comes easy. Some days it feels like dragging a dead horse uphill. That is life. The corporate world wants you to believe that productivity is a constant. It is not. It is a wave. You ride it when it comes. You prepare for it when it does not. I feel most productive when I stop pretending to be someone I am not. I find productivity when I stop chasing the perfect routine. I simply listen to my own pace. Productivity is not about more hours. It is about more honesty. That is the real play. ### Seven Months of Learning, Loving, and Letting Time Flow URL: https://snayak.com/seven-months-of-learning-loving-and-letting-time-flow/ Last updated: 2025-04-28T15:42:14.000Z It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in the hospital room. I was [holding my newborn daughter Anika for the very first time](https://snayak.com/welcoming-baby-girl-new-beginning/). I can still remember the rush of emotions. There was excitement and nervousness. An overwhelming sense of joy filled my heart. ![A father sitting on a chair in a hospital, holding a blue blanket with a character design, appearing relaxed with eyes closed.](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/04/6f60f-img_1368-large-1-1-1.jpeg) Amidst all the happiness, there was also a quiet fear building inside me. It was the fear of whether I can take care of this little life and her mother. Everything felt so new, so unfamiliar, and honestly, overwhelming. Fast forward to today, Anika is already six and half months old. She recognizes me now. She calls me "Papa." In fact, she started saying it right after [she turned six months old](https://snayak.com/six-months-of-anika-the-one-with-the-rose-petals/). At first, we thought she was just babbling like any other baby. But slowly, we realized she was actually calling me, and it melted my heart every single time. I work late nights, but thankfully, my employers have given me the flexibility to work from home. It allows me to manage my professional responsibilities while also being there for my family. Every night, as soon as my shift ends, Anika looks around for me. She waits for her Papa to come and hold her. 0:00 /0:03 1× I honestly do not know how a seven-month-old baby understands so much without anyone teaching her. It is not something that happens once in a while. It happens every single day. And every single day, it leaves me wondering how quickly she is growing up, right before my eyes. Watching Anika grow has taught me something I never fully understood before. Time does not wait for anyone. Moments that feel ordinary today will one day become the memories we cherish the most. As I live through these precious days, I am learning to slow down. I am learning to be here.I am learning to truly experience the magic of now. Because tomorrow, she will be a little bigger, and today will quietly slip into yesterday. ### The Risk I Took That I’ll Never Regret URL: https://snayak.com/the-risk-i-took-that-ill-never-regret/ Last updated: 2025-04-25T22:30:40.000Z In 2019, I left a so-called “secure” government contract job. Sounds bold, right? Not really. My salary came once every 4 or 5 months. I was juggling rent, credit card bills, and somehow surviving. On paper, it looked like stability. In reality, it was chaos. Then came an offer, a role in a private company. No big raise. But it promised one thing: a regular salary. Everyone around me called it a step down. But I knew staying put would cost me more than just money, it would cost me time and growth. So I took the risk. ## Early days weren’t easy The private job came with pressure, long hours, and the constant urge to prove myself. But for the first time in years, I had predictability. Rent was on time. My mind wasn’t spinning at 3 AM about bills. And slowly, something started to shift. One evening, my manager pulled me aside. No agenda. No big announcement. He said, “You’ve got ownership in you. Rare to find.” That sentence changed everything. I started believing in myself in a way I hadn’t before. ## A career pivot that paid off That risk wasn’t just about switching jobs, it reset my trajectory. Since then, I’ve climbed industries, taken on creative leadership, and built a life on my terms. If I hadn’t made that leap, I’d still be stuck waiting for a salary that may or may not come. I don’t regret leaving. I regret not doing it earlier. ## What I learned from the jump The real danger wasn’t the risk, it was the comfort. The illusion that staying put was safer. But nothing grows in comfort. That leap showed me that betting on yourself is the only real security in a world that’s constantly shifting. Sometimes, the best move is the one nobody understands. ## Final thoughts Taking that risk made me uncomfortable, uncertain, and anxious. But it also made me accountable, sharp, and resilient. If you’re sitting on a decision, scared of what happen. Ask yourself what will happen if nothing changes. For me, the bigger regret would’ve been not taking that chance at all. ### When Taking Action Did More Harm Than Good URL: https://snayak.com/when-taking-action-did-more-harm-than-good/ Last updated: 2025-04-23T04:38:50.000Z I’m usually the guy who doesn’t sit around waiting. I believe in taking charge, thinking things through, weighing the odds, and then doing what needs to be done. I overthink, yes, but in my head that’s better than being caught off guard. I like to stay ahead, stay alert, and not miss out on things that matter. But here’s the part no one talks about. Taking action doesn’t always lead to better results. In fact, some of my biggest regrets came from acting too quickly, not from holding back. There have been moments when I should have just paused. Taken a breath. Let things settle. But I didn’t. I felt the pressure to respond, to fix, to be the responsible one. I jumped in. I thought I was doing the right thing. Yet, all I really did was add fuel to a situation. It have cooled down on its own. One time, I tried to resolve a work issue before it had the chance to play out naturally. I thought I was being proactive and saving the team from a future mess. But instead, I made it worse. What have been a small misunderstanding became a bigger deal. I brought it into the spotlight when all it needed was some quiet time to dissolve. That moment taught me something I wish I had learned earlier. Not every situation needs my action. Not every moment calls for my involvement. Sometimes people just need space. Sometimes silence speaks louder than anything else. And often, the smartest move is simply not moving. If I do it again, I would wait. I would take a step back. I would ask myself simple questions. Is this mine to fix? Is now the right time? Or am I just uncomfortable with sitting in uncertainty? I have come to understand that not every decision needs to be immediate. That not every response has to be quick. And most importantly, that patience is not the same as weakness. It takes real strength to hold back when every part of you wants to jump in. And that’s a lesson I am still learning. Quietly. Slowly. One moment at a time. ### Six Months of Anika, The One with the Rose Petals URL: https://snayak.com/six-months-of-anika-the-one-with-the-rose-petals/ Last updated: 2025-04-23T03:10:18.000Z Half a year already. It feels unreal. Like we blinked and she went from newborn snuggles to trying to grab everything in sight. And for her six-month milestone, we kept it soft, simple, and full of petals. Lovely once again took the lead. She picked red rose petals to form the number six. No plastic props, no glittery frames. There were just fresh petals and a clean sheet. Anika was dressed in a floral outfit that matched the whole vibe without even trying. Her maroon top and white floral frock gave the photo a soft festive feel, but without making it look overdone. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/04/IMG_3099-2-1.jpeg) This time, Anika was not just lying there. She was observing everything. The camera, the petals, the lights. Her expressions have started to show thought. Like she’s figuring things out, like she already has opinions about how we’re staging these shoots. She looked calm, curious, and a little serious, which was a first. No wide grins this time, just pure elegance. Maybe she knew this was a big one. Six months is no small deal. She now responds to her name. She looks at us with eyes that say she knows who we are. She has started making different sounds. These are not just random babbles. They feel like she's trying to say something important. She reaches for toys. She pulls our hair and sometimes holds our fingers with a grip that makes you stop everything. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2025/04/IMG_3085-1.jpeg) The rose petals weren’t just decoration. They felt symbolic. Delicate, vibrant, full of life. Just like her. Every petal placed around her felt like a silent thank you to the last six months. For every cry, every cuddle, every breakthrough. One day, when Anika grows up, she will ask why we did this month after month. I want her to know that we weren’t trying to be fancy. We were just making space to pause. To watch her grow. To celebrate her in our own quiet way. This photo is more than a memory. It’s a reminder that beauty doesn’t need effort when love is already in the room. And now we wait for month seven. No idea what we’ll use. But the feeling behind it will stay the same. ### Lovely, My Constant in the Chaos URL: https://snayak.com/lovely-my-constant-in-the-chaos/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:03:43.000Z Some people come into your life quietly and end up becoming the strongest part of it. For me, that person is Lovely. Back when I was working as a contractor, life was unpredictable. Salaries came late, bills piled up, and I was always anxious. But she never complained. She never asked why things weren’t better. Instead, she looked me in the eye and said, “We’ll manage.” And she meant it. She stood by me during every tough phase. No dramatic speeches, just small actions that showed care. A plate of food when I was too stressed to ask. Sitting beside me when I couldn’t talk. Just being there without pressure. Then came Anika. Pregnancy is never easy, but the way she handled everything with patience and strength made me respect her even more. I’ll never forget her smile the moment Anika was born. Tired, teary, and full of love. Lovely doesn’t ask for credit. She never wants attention. But if I am where I am today, it’s because she stayed when she had every reason to walk away. She didn’t just support me. She carried me through. Quietly. Steadily. Without asking for anything in return. Some heroes don’t wear capes. They wear simplicity, strength, and a smile that keeps you going. ### What is the Last Thing I have Learnt URL: https://snayak.com/what-is-the-last-thing-i-have-learnt/ Last updated: 2025-04-16T11:52:53.000Z Lately, I’ve been diving deep into AI and how it’s shaping the world. I recently completed an AI Engineering course, and it’s been fascinating to see how artificial intelligence is evolving. Every day, there’s something new—better models, more automation, new possibilities. It’s exciting, but also a little overwhelming because things move so fast. Keeping up with all the advancements feels like a challenge, but it’s one I enjoy. Learning about AI isn’t just about understanding the technology; it’s about seeing where it fits into real life. AI is already everywhere—recommendation systems, chatbots, automation tools—but there’s still so much potential. I find myself wondering about the future. How will AI change the way we work? How can it be used responsibly? These are big questions, and I don’t have all the answers, but I like thinking about them. At the same time, I don’t want to spend all my time just staring at screens. That’s where journaling comes in. It’s something I’ve been trying to do more of, and I’ve realized how helpful it is. Writing things down helps me process my thoughts, whether it’s about AI, personal goals, or just random ideas. Some days, I just do a simple recap of what happened. Other days, I write whatever comes to mind without worrying about structure. One thing I’ve been experimenting with is keeping a commonplace book—a place to jot down quotes, ideas, or anything that stands out to me. It’s a simple habit, but it helps me remember things that I might otherwise forget. And unlike typing on a screen, writing by hand feels different. It forces me to slow down, which is something I don’t do often enough. It’s funny how two very different things—AI and journaling—are both teaching me something valuable. AI is all about the future, about efficiency and innovation. But journaling is about the present, about taking a moment to reflect. Balancing both feels important. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of learning and working, but making time to slow down makes all the difference. Not every day is perfectly productive, and not every journal entry is profound, but that’s okay. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. ### Five Months of Anika, The One With the 5 Stars URL: https://snayak.com/five-months-of-anika-the-one-with-the-5-stars/ Last updated: 2025-04-23T03:10:48.000Z This month’s celebration came with a serious sugar twist. It wasn't for Anika, of course. We all got a little too excited. We arranged 5 Star chocolates into the shape of a number five. Lovely planned it all. She knew exactly what she wanted. From the color of the bedsheet to the outfit, to the placement of each chocolate. What surprised me most was her restraint. She didn’t touch (or let me touch) a single one of those bars until the photos were done. That takes real discipline. I can’t say the same for myself after the shoot ended. Anika wore a soft off-white romper with a golden belt. The outfit made her look like a little queen. She just happened to be chilling next to a pile of chocolate. She gave that side glance to the camera, almost like she knew she was being watched. This girl is already camera aware, and I have no idea who she gets that from. At five months, she has turned into this curious little explorer. She rolls over smoothly. She stares at faces with full attention. Sometimes, she gives us fake cries just to see if we react. She knows what she wants. And if she doesn’t get it, well, we hear about it. This photo looks like a simple setup. When you really see it, it tells you a lot about the love that went into making it. No props, no filters, no big show. Just effort, attention, and a whole lot of heart from her mom. These monthly shoots are not about being perfect. They are just a way to pause, click, and store the feeling of “this was Anika at five months.” It matters. Because soon, these moments will become memories. And I don’t want them to fade into one blurry childhood. One day she will ask us why we went with 5 Star chocolates instead of something prettier. I’ll tell her the truth. It was fun, it was easy, and it was us. That’s all that mattered. Let’s see what six months brings. Whatever it is, we’re ready. And so is she. ### When Busyness Becomes a Trap: Why I Can’t Sleep Early URL: https://snayak.com/when-busyness-becomes-a-trap-why-i-cant-sleep-early/ Last updated: 2025-02-12T20:44:20.000Z Today, I found myself reflecting on a struggle that has lingered for years—my inability to sleep early. It’s like an ongoing battle where I know the enemy, but somehow, the strategies I deploy always miss the mark. For the longest time, I believed this was all because of my workload. I used to bury myself in tasks—some necessary, most self-imposed—thinking I was being productive. But now, I see it for what it was: a way to avoid stillness. Perhaps it was the fear of idleness or the illusion that busyness equaled progress. In the last few months, I’ve tried to limit this behavior. I’ve consciously chosen not to create artificial workloads for myself, hoping it would lead to better rest and peace of mind. But the reality is...it hasn’t worked. Sleep still evades me. My mind still finds ways to keep itself occupied, often with things that feel productive but, in hindsight, are completely counter-productive. Even tonight, I catch myself stuck in this cycle—chasing productivity in random tasks, convincing myself it’s meaningful, while knowing deep down that it’s not. The result? A restless mind and a tired body. Maybe it’s time to redefine what productivity means to me. Maybe it’s not about ticking boxes but about knowing when to step back, let go, and just be. Perhaps rest itself is the productivity I’ve been avoiding all along. I don’t have the answers yet, but for now, I’ll start small. Maybe a book before bed. Maybe a few minutes of silence. Maybe just giving myself permission to stop, without guilt. Here’s to hoping for better nights and quieter thoughts. ### Outgrowing Hobbies: Letting Go and Moving Forward URL: https://snayak.com/outgrowing-hobbies-letting-go-and-moving-forward/ Last updated: 2025-02-12T20:38:38.000Z I used to be obsessed with collecting Pokémon cards. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was an adventure. Every new pack felt like opening a mystery box, the excitement of finding a rare holographic card was unmatched. I remember saving up my pocket money just to buy another booster pack. I hoped to get a Charizard or a legendary card. Those cards would make my collection unbeatable. Trading cards with friends during school breaks was the highlight of my day. It was more than just pieces of cardboard; it was a community, a competition, and a way to bond. But somewhere along the way, that passion started fading. Life got busier, school turned into college, and then came the responsibilities of work. The same Pokémon cards that once felt like treasures were now tucked away in a forgotten drawer. At first, I didn’t even realize it was happening. I told myself I’d get back to it someday, but that day never came. ## The Moment I Knew I Had Moved On A few years ago, I stumbled upon my old collection while cleaning out my room. I picked up a card and ran my fingers over the glossy surface. I expected to feel the same excitement I once did. But it wasn’t there. Instead, it felt like looking at a relic from a past life—something I cherished but no longer connected with. I thought about selling them, but nostalgia made me hold back. These weren’t just cards; they were reminders of a time when my biggest worry was completing my collection. Eventually, I decided to pass them down to my younger cousin, who was just getting into Pokémon. I watched his eyes light up as he flipped through the deck. This made me realize something. It wasn’t about losing interest. It was about outgrowing that phase of life. ## Why Do We Outgrow Hobbies? Hobbies change because we change. Our interests shift based on our environment, priorities, and life experiences. As kids, we have the time and freedom to dive into hobbies without thinking about productivity or responsibilities. But as we grow older, our focus shifts. We start valuing different things—careers, relationships, self-improvement. The hobbies that once defined us not fit into our lives the same way anymore. That doesn’t mean we don’t cherish those memories. In fact, outgrowing a hobby doesn’t always mean leaving it behind forever. Sometimes, we rediscover them in new ways. Maybe one day, when my daughter grows up, I’ll introduce her to Pokémon and relive that excitement through her eyes. ## Moving Ahead Without Regret There’s no shame in outgrowing things. It’s just a sign that we’re evolving. Some hobbies stick with us for life, while others serve their purpose and fade away. And that’s okay. The important thing is to keep exploring new interests, to keep finding things that bring us joy. So if you’ve ever felt guilty about losing interest in something you once loved, don’t. It just means you’re making room for new passions, new adventures, and new stories to tell. ### The Truth About Why We Don’t Celebrate Valentine’s Week URL: https://snayak.com/the-truth-about-why-we-dont-celebrate-valentines-week/ Last updated: 2025-02-12T10:01:59.000Z Love is not about a date on the calendar. It’s not about grand gestures on specific days dictated by trends. For me, love is in the little things. It's in the unplanned coffee dates and the late-night conversations. It's in the everyday moments that make life beautiful. That’s why I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Week. But that doesn’t mean I don’t celebrate love. In fact, I do—just on a day that actually means something to us. ## February 26: Our Real Valentine's Day For most people, February is all about chocolates, roses, and candlelight dinners. It is a month dedicated to celebrating love in its many forms. But for me, February 26 holds far more significance. It marks the day Lovely said “yes” to my proposal. This moment forever turned an ordinary day into a lifelong memory to cherish. The anticipation was palpable. It was filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness as I knelt before her. That single moment, with her sparkling eyes reflecting joy and surprise, was worth more than a thousand scripted celebrations. It embodied the pure essence of love. It sealed our commitment and paved the way for a beautiful journey together. This journey is filled with shared dreams, laughter, and countless adventures. ## Love Doesn’t Need a Calendar Reminder Do we really need a dedicated week to express love? If love is genuine, it’s there in every moment, in every gesture, and in every silent glance exchanged. I don’t need a ‘Propose Day’ to tell Lovely how much she means to me. I don’t need a ‘Promise Day’ to assure her of my commitment. These are things I do naturally, without a reminder. Every day with her is a celebration. Sometimes we share a Five Star candy while watching a movie. Other times, I randomly text her a silly joke to make her smile. That's the love that lasts. ## The Pulwama Attack: A Reality Check Another reason I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Week is because of what happened on February 14, 2019\. The Pulwama attack was a heart-wrenching reminder that while some were exchanging roses, families were losing their loved ones. It felt wrong to celebrate when our soldiers were making the ultimate sacrifice. How do I enjoy a day filled with artificial romance when the country was mourning? Since then, I have never looked at February 14 the same way. While others are planning their dates, I take a moment to remember those who laid down their lives for us. ## Love is Personal, Not Commercial Valentine’s Week has turned into a marketing festival. Brands push people to buy gifts, expensive dinners, and luxury getaways. The essence of love is lost in the noise of consumerism. True love doesn’t need validation through gifts. It’s in the everyday moments—the ones that don’t make it to social media but mean the world in real life. For me, love is not bound by a week. It’s a lifetime of moments, and I choose to celebrate it in my own way. ### The Internet: The Most Important Invention in My Lifetime URL: https://snayak.com/the-internet-the-most-important-invention-in-my-lifetime/ Last updated: 2025-02-12T06:03:16.000Z If I had to pick the most important invention in my lifetime, without a doubt, it would be the **internet**. It’s not just a tool or a luxury anymore—it’s a necessity, shaping the way we live, work, and connect. When I think about it, the internet is the one invention that has truly changed everything. I still remember the first time I used the internet. It was back in the mid-2000s when dial-up connections made that weird screeching sound before finally connecting. The speed was slow, websites took forever to load, and Google was just starting to gain popularity. Back then, the internet was mostly for checking emails and looking up school projects. Fast move to today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without it. ## How the Internet Changed the Way We Communicate Before the internet, staying in touch with people wasn’t this easy. We used to rely on landline phones, letters, and occasional meetups. Calling someone meant hoping they were home, and long-distance calls were expensive. Social media wasn’t even a concept. Now, everything happens in real time. Whether it’s WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram, we can instantly connect with anyone, anywhere. I still find it crazy. I can have a conversation with someone across the globe as if they were sitting next to me. Video calls, instant messaging, and even memes have become a big part of how we communicate. The internet has also changed the way we consume news. We no longer wait for the morning newspaper; everything is available at our fingertips. If something happens, we know about it within minutes. This level of connectivity has made the world feel much smaller. I can’t imagine going back to a time without it. ## The Internet’s Role in Work and Education One of the biggest shifts in recent years has been in how we work and learn. The internet has made remote work a reality. A few years ago, the idea of working from home seemed like a rare privilege. Today, it’s completely normal. Many companies have embraced remote work, allowing employees to work from anywhere with a stable internet connection. Education has also evolved massively. When I was in school, learning was limited to textbooks and what the teacher explained in class. Now, students can access endless resources online. Platforms like YouTube, Coursera, and Khan Academy make it possible to learn almost anything for free. I wish we had these options back then. They would have saved me a lot of time trying to understand difficult concepts. The pandemic further proved how essential the internet is for education and work. Schools shifted to online learning overnight, and businesses adapted to remote work almost instantly. Without the internet, this transition would have been impossible. ## Entertainment and Shopping in the Digital Age Remember when we had to wait for our favorite TV shows to air? Or when buying something meant visiting multiple stores just to compare prices? The internet has changed all of that. Streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify have given us unlimited entertainment options. We don’t have to rely on scheduled TV programs anymore. Everything is available on demand. Online shopping is another game-changer. I still remember the first time I ordered something online—it felt like magic when the package arrived at my doorstep. Now, e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart have made shopping effortless. With just a few clicks, we can order anything, from groceries to gadgets, and have it delivered in no time. This shift has made life incredibly convenient. Instead of spending hours at the mall, we can browse products online, read reviews, and make informed decisions. Even local businesses have adapted, offering online delivery and digital payment options. ## The Dark Side of the Internet As much as I love the internet, I won’t ignore its downsides. The biggest problem is **privacy**. With so much personal data online, security breaches and cyber threats have become common. Every other day, we hear about a new data leak or a hacking try. Social media platforms track our every move, showing us ads based on our searches and conversations. Then there’s **addiction**. It’s easy to lose track of time scrolling through endless content. I’ve had days where I planned to watch one video, and before I knew it, an hour had passed. Social media, in particular, is designed to keep us hooked. The constant notifications, likes, and comments create a cycle that’s hard to break. Misinformation is another major issue. With so much content available, it’s tough to separate facts from fake news. Anyone can post anything, and if it goes viral, people believe it without verifying the source. This has led to confusion, unnecessary panic, and even social conflicts. ## Why the Internet Remains the Most Important Invention Despite its drawbacks, the internet remains the most important invention in my lifetime. It has changed every aspect of our lives, it affects how we communicate, work, learn, shop, and entertain ourselves. It has opened up endless opportunities, making information accessible to everyone, regardless of location or background. While new technologies will keep emerging, I doubt anything will surpass the impact of the internet. It has not only shaped my generation but will continue to shape future ones. It’s hard to imagine what life would look like without it, and honestly, I wouldn’t want to find out. So, if I had to pick one invention that truly changed the world, it’s the internet—without a doubt. ### Growing Up Through Unexpected Life Changes URL: https://snayak.com/growing-up-through-unexpected-life-changes/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T05:59:33.000Z You know, life has a way of teaching you lessons when you least expect it. For me, it wasn’t a small nudge or a subtle whisper. It was a full-blown earthquake that shattered everything I thought I knew about myself and the world around me. It happened a few years back, during a phase when I was just cruising through life—stubborn, impulsive, and quite frankly, immature. I thought I had all the time in the world to figure things out. But life had other plans. ### **The Day Everything Changed** I still remember that day. My father, who had always been the strong one in our family, mentioned a pain in his chest. None of us thought it was serious. After all, he rarely complained about anything. But when the doctor broke the news—three critical blockages in his heart—it felt like the ground beneath me vanished. I was frozen, and in that stillness, reality hit me like a truck. This wasn’t just about him. It was about all of us. In that moment, I realized I didn’t have the luxury of being a carefree kid anymore. Someone had to step up. Decisions needed to be made. Bills had to be paid. Conversations with doctors needed to happen. And for the first time in my life, that “someone” was me. ### **A Crash Course in Growing Up** Let me tell you, nothing prepares you for responsibility. It doesn’t come with a guidebook or a checklist. You’re thrown into the deep end, and you either figure out how to swim, or you sink. Coordinating hospital visits, managing my father’s treatment, ensuring the family stayed calm—it felt like I was juggling fire. I made mistakes. I overreacted sometimes. But I kept going because I had to. The toughest part? Seeing my father, the strongest man I knew, so vulnerable. It crushed me, but it also lit a fire inside me. I couldn’t let him—or my family—down. ### **Lessons I Didn’t Expect to Learn** This wasn’t just about handling a crisis. It was about realizing how unprepared we were. Financial planning, health insurance, and even understanding basic medical processes—these weren’t things we ever discussed as a family. I learned the hard way that life doesn’t always give you warnings. And while you can’t control what happens, you can control how prepared you are for it. But the biggest lesson? Strength isn’t about being unshakable. It’s about standing tall, even when you’re terrified inside. ### **How It Changed Me** Before this, I used to get angry over the smallest things. My temper was like a matchstick—quick to ignite and quick to burn out. But when you’re thrown into a situation where your anger won’t solve anything, you learn to let go of it. I became calmer, more patient. I started listening more and reacting less. And I began valuing the little things—like sitting with my family over tea or hearing my dad laugh. It also made me realize how much I had taken for granted. Relationships, health, time—they’re not as infinite as we think. ### **The Takeaway** Looking back, I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. It was one of the hardest periods of my life. But I can’t deny it was also one of the most transformative. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by life’s challenges, I want you to know it’s okay to feel scared. It’s okay to not have all the answers. But trust me, you’re stronger than you think. Sometimes, the moments that break you are the same ones that build you. And when you come out on the other side, you’ll see a version of yourself you didn’t know existed. For me, that version was a responsible adult who learned to care deeply, act wisely, and value every moment with the people who matter most. And that, I think, is a lesson worth sharing. Life, unpredictable as it is, has this strange way of showing you what you’re made of. And trust me, you’re made of more than you’ll ever know. ### How I Stay Productive: Tips for Task Completion URL: https://snayak.com/how-i-stay-productive-tips-for-task-completion/ Last updated: 2025-02-03T15:18:49.000Z We all have our own way of handling tasks. For me, I don’t like to leave anything hanging. If there’s something that needs doing, I’ll find a way to fit it into my day. My to-do list isn’t just a vague reminder; it’s a running tally of things I actually intend to finish. When something lands on there, it’s as good as done. That’s not to say I’m working nonstop or chasing perfection. I just stick to a simple rule: if it’s important enough to write down, it’s important enough to get done. Over the years, I’ve refined my system. It’s not complicated, but it’s effective. I’ll break larger tasks into smaller steps, set realistic deadlines, and keep everything moving forward. I know what works for me, and I rely on those methods to stay on track. ## How I Make It Work One thing that really helps is using the 20-80 rule. Instead of trying to tackle everything equally, I focus on the small number of tasks that make the biggest difference. This lets me put my energy where it counts most. I also rely on shorter work sessions—usually around 25 minutes—so I can stay focused without burning out. Those short bursts of productivity, mixed with regular breaks, keep me moving at a steady pace. Another thing I’ve found helpful is looking at tasks through the Eisenhower Matrix. It’s a simple framework for sorting what’s urgent and what’s important. When I can see exactly what I need to do right now, versus what can wait a day or two, it’s a lot easier to get started. I never waste time second-guessing; I just get on with it. Finally, I use GTD principles to keep it all organized. I write everything down, make sure I know the next action step, and keep my lists clear and manageable. With everything laid out in front of me, there’s no confusion. I always know what needs doing and when. ## Why Nothing Stays Pending So, what’s the secret? For me, it’s about having a system I trust and sticking to it. I don’t overthink tasks or put them off. Instead, I approach each day with the goal of crossing things off that list—one by one. If something’s important, I’ll make the time to get it done. That’s just the way I work. ### The Journey with My First Computer: Learning, Failing, and Thriving URL: https://snayak.com/the-journey-with-my-first-computer-learning-failing-and-thriving/ Last updated: 2025-02-03T16:54:48.000Z It was 2006\. I was in 8th class, and life was simpler. No smartphones, no binge-watching, just school, cricket, and the occasional dose of Cartoon Network. Then one day, my uncle brought home something that would change my world—a used HCL desktop computer. It wasn’t the latest or the greatest, but to me, it was nothing less than magic. It had a white CRT monitor, a bulky CPU, and a keyboard that clicked loudly with every press. The moment we plugged it in and the screen lit up, I felt like I had entered a whole new dimension. The Windows XP startup sound was music to my ears. I had no idea how this machine worked, but I knew one thing—it was mine to explore. At first, I didn’t have internet access, so my time was spent tinkering with MS Paint, Solitaire, and Notepad. I would type random things just to see letters appear on the screen. It felt like I had a superpower. I didn’t know coding, I didn’t know how computers worked, but I was already hooked. ## The Unexpected Disaster Just as I was starting to get comfortable with my new digital playground, disaster struck. Within a year, the entire motherboard got damaged. One day, it just refused to turn on. I had no clue what had gone wrong, and we had to call a repairman. His verdict? The motherboard was beyond repair, and fixing it would cost around Rs. 20,000\. That was a huge amount back then. So, my first computer journey ended abruptly. I was heartbroken. The device that had opened up a whole new world was now just a lifeless box sitting in the corner. I didn't know much about repairs, and honestly, no one around me did either. My dream of becoming a computer wizard was put on hold, but not for long. ## A Second Chance at Exploration In 2008, I got a second computer. This time, it was another HCL desktop, but in black, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It felt like an upgrade in every way. I was older, a little wiser, and this time, I wanted to do more than just play Solitaire. I started exploring every part of the system. I learned how to install software, navigate the file system, and even mess around with some basic settings. But my biggest discovery was Dangerous Dave—a game that looked simple but was an absolute nightmare to complete. I never managed to finish all the levels, but I kept coming back to it, determined to get better. Looking back, these two computers were more than just machines. They were my introduction to technology, my first step into a field that would later become my career. I didn’t realize it then, but those hours spent clicking around, breaking things, and figuring them out shaped the way I approach problems today. The journey that started with that old HCL desktop led me to where I am now. And even though my first computer didn’t last long, it gave me something far more valuable—a curiosity that never faded. ### Anika Turns Four Months Old, A Grape-Sweet Memory URL: https://snayak.com/anika-turns-four-months-old-a-grape-sweet-memory/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:04:51.000Z Some days are not just ordinary days. They become memories that live with us. This was one of those days. Anika completed four months. And like always, we wanted to celebrate it in a way that felt close to our hearts. Nothing grand. No studio lights. Just a soft white bedsheet, a bunch of grapes, and our Anika dressed in a deep wine-colored dress. That smile on her face lit up the entire frame. This time, the photos were captured beautifully by Lovely and my sister Gudi. Honestly, they did not just take pictures. They froze a feeling. The moment you see the photo, it tells a story. A baby girl lying peacefully, and beside her, grapes arranged to form the number 4\. Simple, yet so special. Anika is growing fast. These days, her little eyes watch everything. Her giggles are louder, and she now holds our fingers tighter. Every touch, every sound from her feels like a new discovery. Parenting is not always easy, but moments like this make it feel worth every bit. What made this month even more heartwarming was how everyone came together to celebrate it. No pressure, no plans. Just the joy of having her in our lives. And the happiness of seeing her grow each day. These small celebrations help us pause. They remind us of the time that is flying by. One day, Anika will ask us how she was as a baby. We will have these memories to show her. Not just in photos, but in the love we poured into every little moment. So here’s to four months of Anika. To the cuddles, the sleepy eyes, the baby talks, and the quiet joy that fills our home. And a big thanks to Lovely and Gudi for capturing this memory with so much care. Next month, maybe we will try rose for 5 stars. Or something else she can one day smile about. Until then, we keep celebrating her... ### What It Would Take for Me to Overcome My Fear of Dogs URL: https://snayak.com/what-it-would-take-for-me-to-overcome-my-fear-of-dogs/ Last updated: 2025-02-02T14:02:23.000Z Fear has a funny way of sticking around, even when you know it shouldn’t. It sneaks into your mind, controls your actions, and refuses to let go. For some, it’s heights. For others, it’s speaking in public. But for me, it has always been **dogs.** Now, I know what you’re thinking. How can someone be scared of something as loving and loyal as a dog? People talk about how dogs are the best companions, how they sense emotions, and how they bring so much joy. I wish I see them that way. For as long as I can remember, when I hear a bark, my mind tells me to run. Also, when I see a dog running freely, my mind tells me to run. It all started when I was a kid. I don’t remember how old I was, but I remember the fear. I was walking down the lane near my house, and minding my own business. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a street dog charged at me. It wasn’t just barking—it was furious. Its sharp teeth flashed, its paws kicked up dust, and I was convinced it was coming straight for me. My legs moved before my brain think, and I ran as fast as I. My heart pounded, my breath was uneven, and I was sure I was about to get bitten. I don’t even know if the dog was actually chasing me. Maybe I imagined the whole thing. But that moment changed everything. Since then, dogs have never been just dogs to me. They’ve been unpredictable, fast, and a little too close to danger. No matter how many times people say, **"They won’t do anything, just stay calm,"** my body doesn’t listen. Every time I see one, I instinctively step back. My mind replays that childhood memory, and the fear comes rushing in like it never left. ### What Would It Take to Overcome This Fear? I’ve asked myself this question so many times. Deep down, I know this fear isn’t logical. Not every dog is aggressive. Not every bark is a threat. But knowing that doesn’t magically erase the fear. Maybe the first step is **understanding dogs better.** I don’t know much about them—how they think, how they react, or why they behave the way they do. Maybe if I learned more, I’d realize that not every movement means danger. People trust their dogs with their kids, right? There has to be something I’m missing. Then there’s **exposure.** I can’t expect to wake up one day and just not be scared anymore. Maybe I need to take it slow. Watching a dog from a distance, standing near one, then maybe, one day, touching one. No sudden movements. No pressure. Just small steps. Most importantly, I think it’s about **rewiring my mind.** That one childhood experience shaped my fear, but it doesn’t have to define my entire life. I don’t want to be the person who crosses the street just to avoid a dog. I don’t want my daughter to grow up seeing me scared and thinking dogs are something to fear. Will I ever be a dog person? I don’t know. But I’d love to reach a point where I can walk past one without my heart racing. Maybe one day, instead of running away, I’ll stay still. I will see a dog for what it really is—not a threat, but just another living being trying to exist. ### Everyday Struggles I Despise, And How I Crush Them Now URL: https://snayak.com/everyday-struggles-i-despise-and-how-i-crush-them-now/ Last updated: 2025-01-30T08:39:03.000Z I often wake up with a mental checklist that seems endless. My alarm reminds me I should start the day, yet I sometimes feel I'd rather roll over and stay under the covers. I know I'm not alone in feeling this way. Everyday struggles creep up on all of us. These challenges can be small, like that urge to hit snooze, or enormous, like doubts that chip away at our confidence. It can feel like a battle every morning. We want to do our best, but life tosses curve balls at us without warning. I remember a time when I tried to tackle everything at once. I'd jump out of bed and rush around, convinced I had no time to waste. That hectic approach left me drained before noon. My stress levels spiked, and I realized I needed a fresh game plan. Over time, I learned that small tweaks can have a huge impact. You can take a minute to breathe in the morning. You can also quiet the self-critical voice at night. There is always a path ahead. I'm here to share what has worked for me. I hope that my experiences will spark ideas for you as well. In this blog post, I want to get real about the everyday struggles I despise. I'll show you how I'm learning to crush them now, one moment at a time. Think of it as a friendly chat between two people who know life isn't always neat or simple. ## Waking Up and Facing My Day For the longest time, I thought morning routines were for those who have their lives perfectly figured out. I used to picture them as superhuman folks. They bounce out of bed at 5 AM, brew organic tea and meditate for an hour. They still have time to respond to emails. Meanwhile, I would roll over, snag my phone, and scroll through social feeds. This habit triggered comparison right away. I'd see perfect vacation photos. I'd also see fancy breakfast spreads. There would be motivational quotes from people who seemed far more disciplined than I was. After a few minutes of this, I'd already feel behind. My feet hadn't even touched the floor, yet my mind was racing with doubts. Eventually, I saw the damage this routine was doing, and the everyday struggles I was facing because of that. I'd carry these negative feelings into the rest of the day. I realized it wasn't the morning itself that was awful. It was how I was welcoming it. I decided to experiment with small changes. First, I placed my phone out of reach at night. It felt weird, but it also prevented me from grabbing it first thing. When my alarm rang, I had to physically get up to turn it off. That got me moving, even if I wasn't thrilled about it. Once I was on my feet, I gave myself a minute to stretch and breathe. This switch turned out to be more refreshing than I expected. Next, I started focusing on something I'm thankful for. Some days it's big, like feeling grateful for a supportive friend. Other days it's silly, like savoring the warmth of my fuzzy socks. This mental shift reminded me that there is good in my life, no matter how small it seems. Then I found that I'd approach my day with a little more energy. It's amazing how a tweak that takes under five minutes can reframe my entire morning. I won't say my life is flawless now, but that sense of dread isn't as strong. If you can relate, maybe it's worth trying a similar experiment. You might surprise yourself by discovering that mornings can hold a gentle magic, instead of a countdown to chaos. ## Taming My Inner Critic My inner critic has a way of showing up at the worst times. Whenever I aim to try something new, it whispers a sneaky question: "What if you fail?" If I'm honest, I used to accept that question without a fight. I'd let it plant images in my head of disastrous outcomes that never actually happened. Over time, I recognized the pattern. This critic wanted me to play it safe. By highlighting everything that could go wrong, it convinced me that I'd be better off not trying at all. I started questioning it. Was this voice telling me the truth, or was it just a loud echo of my own fears? That perspective shift didn't happen overnight. At first, I'd still believe the critic. Then I'd catch myself and realize, "Wait, do I have real evidence that I'm about to fail?" If the answer was no, I'd label the thought as an overreaction. Sometimes I'd even imagine the critic as a cartoon character, like a funny little villain who thinks it's protecting me. That bit of humor lightened the tension. After all, it’s tougher to feel threatened by a silly cartoon character. Whenever I forced myself to take tiny steps toward my goals, I noticed the critic quieting down. If I wanted to start writing, I'd promise myself to write just one paragraph. Once I'd done that, I felt proud. My momentum would build, and I'd keep going. The critic rarely knew what to do with forward motion, because it thrives when I'm stuck. This was a big realization. It's not that I got rid of the critic altogether. It's more like I trained it to step aside. I'm still a work in progress, but I can tell you that once you challenge that self-critical voice, it loses a lot of its grip. If you've been letting it control your decisions, try taking even a single, brave step in the opposite direction. You might be amazed at how quickly the critic's power fades when you shine a little light on it. ## Ditching Procrastination and Overwhelm If there is one everyday struggle that really pushes my buttons, it's procrastination. I'd sit down to work with the best intentions, only to find myself chasing random distractions. One moment I'm checking a harmless notification, and the next I'm deep-diving into funny videos of singing cats. It might sound harmless at first, but those quick distractions add up. Then I'd realize hours had slipped away, and I still had a mountain of tasks glaring at me. Stress rose as deadlines approached. It was a chaotic cycle, and I knew I had to break free. I looked for patterns and found that I usually dodged tasks that felt too big or unclear. To face this, I started breaking larger goals into smaller, more manageable pieces. If I needed to write a report, I'd aim to finish just the introduction first. That manageable target felt less intimidating. Once I'd conquered that segment, I'd feel a small rush of accomplishment, which encouraged me to tackle the next part. This method boosted my motivation in surprising ways. Yet even after breaking tasks down, I still stumbled on temptations like social media or streaming platforms. So I created a workspace that reduced those urges. I'd close unrelated browser tabs, silence my phone, and sometimes move to a calm spot away from my usual gadgets. At first, I felt odd without my phone buzzing beside me. But I quickly noticed how much deeper my focus got. The projects that once seemed never-ending started to move forward faster. Progress replaced the familiar anxiety that used to gnaw at me by mid-afternoon. I won't pretend I've cured procrastination completely, but I'm definitely more equipped to handle it now. Whenever I sense the urge to avoid work, I pause and ask, "What exactly am I afraid of here?" That one question often reveals that I'm just overwhelmed or lacking clarity. Addressing that core issue, whether it means asking for help or clarifying my next step, helps me push through. If you're in a similar boat, try observing your own procrastination triggers. With the right approach, you might discover that you can transform those lost hours into some of your most productive moments. ## Rising Above Everyday Struggles I've come to see these everyday struggles as tests of patience and resilience. Some days I pass with flying colors. Other days, not so much. I've also realized there's no magic formula that wipes out every single problem. The key lies in staying aware, making small adjustments, and being kind to ourselves in the process. When I eased into my mornings, I found fresh energy. When I challenged my inner critic, I unlocked hidden confidence. And when I tackled my procrastination habits, I reclaimed valuable time that I once wasted. It's not about perfection. It's about forward movement. If you've ever felt stuck in any of these struggles, I encourage you to be curious. Ask yourself what is really holding you back, and dare to take a single step toward change. Everyday struggles may still appear, but they won't run the show unless we let them. I believe we can learn to crush them, one thoughtful move at a time. ### The Power of Small Family Traditions: Big Love, Big Memories URL: https://snayak.com/the-power-of-small-family-traditions-big-love-big-memories/ Last updated: 2025-01-30T08:10:47.000Z Family traditions are like those old, comfy clothes you just can’t throw away. They may not seem like much to outsiders, but to you, they’re priceless. Every family has its own quirks and customs that make life a little warmer, a little funnier, and definitely more memorable. In my family, these traditions aren’t just routines—they’re the glue that keeps us connected, even when life feels like a whirlwind. So, let me take you on a quick walk down memory lane as I share a few of my favorite family traditions. And who knows? Maybe you’ll end up thinking about your own quirky rituals and smiling by the end. ## The Sunday Lunch Ritual Growing up, Sunday lunch wasn’t just a meal—it was an event. My mom would cook something extra special, and we’d all gather around the table like it was a board meeting. Except here, the agenda was second helpings. The conversations during these lunches were priceless. From discussing the latest cricket match to arguing over who got the biggest piece of chicken (spoiler: it was never me), these moments were pure chaos, but the happy kind. Even now, whenever we visit home, this tradition magically reappears. There’s something heartwarming about knowing some things never change—like my dad’s terrible jokes that somehow still make us laugh. ## Festival Prep Shenanigans Indian festivals are colorful, loud, and, let’s face it, exhausting—but in the best way possible. One of my favorite traditions is how my family gears up for festivals like Diwali or Durga Puja. It starts with the cleaning. Now, “cleaning” in our house isn’t just about dusting. It’s a full-blown operation, complete with yelling instructions and randomly blaming each other for clutter. (“Who needs 20-year-old newspapers, Dad?!”). Once the house is sparkling, we dive into the food prep. My mom and aunts turn the kitchen into a factory of sweets and snacks, and I’m usually their self-appointed “taster.” The best part? No one can accuse you of overeating when you’re “testing” food. Pro tip: Always volunteer for this role—it’s the only way to sneak in extra laddoos guilt-free. ## Naming Ceremonies with a Twist When we recently welcomed my daughter, Anika, into the family, it was time to revive one of our oldest traditions—the naming ceremony. In our family, picking a name is serious business. We don’t just open a baby-name website and call it a day. No, we write down a list of names, fold them into chits, and let the baby decide by touching one. It’s as if the whole family’s excitement rests on those tiny hands making that “important” decision. When Anika picked her name, the room erupted with cheers, as though she had just solved world peace. Of course, she had no clue what was going on, but she looked proud—and that’s all that mattered. ## Roadside Meals on Family Trips Now, this one isn’t a planned tradition—it just happens. On every family trip, there’s always that one moment where we end up eating by the roadside. Whether it’s because someone forgot the plates (it’s usually me) or we got stuck in traffic, these unplanned meals are oddly comforting. One of the best ones I remember was during our trip back from Rourkela. We were tired, hungry, and cranky, but somehow, standing by the road, sharing biryani straight out of the container, turned into one of the happiest memories of the trip. It’s funny how the simplest moments can leave the biggest impact. ### **Why Traditions Matter** Family traditions, big or small, are like bookmarks in the story of our lives. They remind us of where we come from, who we are, and what truly matters. They’re not about perfection—trust me, none of ours are. They’re about connection, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. So, whether it’s a Sunday lunch, a festival prep marathon, or an accidental roadside picnic, I hold onto these moments tightly. Life may get busy, but these traditions are my anchor, keeping me grounded and grateful. What about you? What are some of your favorite family traditions? Drop a comment—I’d love to know! ### How I Find Fun in Everyday Life URL: https://snayak.com/how-i-find-fun-in-everyday-life/ Last updated: 2025-01-23T06:02:51.000Z We all have our ways of sneaking fun into our daily routines, don’t xwe? For me, it’s those simple yet meaningful activities that help me unwind and recharge. Let me take you through the five things I do for fun—simple joys that keep me sane in this whirlwind called life. ## Jamming to Music Like Nobody’s Watching Music is my ultimate escape. Whether it’s Dua Lipa on repeat, Sean Paul making me groove, or Linkin Park fueling some inner angst, music has this magical way of setting things right. I have a playlist for every mood—happy, reflective, and even the "I just want to feel lazy" days. And yes, singing along at the top of my lungs when no one’s around is mandatory. Fun fact: I once tried rapping along with Eminem, and let’s just say I lost halfway through Lose Yourself. ## Binge-Watching Shows with Zero Guilt Netflix and I have a solid relationship. Whether it’s a spine-chilling thriller, a quirky sci-fi, or even the occasional feel-good drama, I dive right in. My wife often jokes that I can’t just “watch” a show—I analyze it, pause to discuss the plot twists, and sometimes even Google random trivia about the actors. Watching a good show is like opening a storybook, except you don’t have to turn the pages. ## Playing Around with Tech (Yes, That’s Fun!) For some, tech might seem like work, but for me, it’s pure fun. Coding, tweaking apps, or even figuring out the quirks of AI, I enjoy the challenge and creativity it brings. Recently, I was working on a Chrome extension for DOM manipulation, and let me tell you, debugging can sometimes feel like solving a murder mystery. The thrill of finally making it work? Unmatched. It’s like my nerdy version of playing a video game. ## Writing, Because Words Are Magic Writing has always been my happy place. Whether it’s penning down my thoughts, crafting a blog post, or just brainstorming new ideas, it feels liberating. Writing for fun is different—there’s no pressure to make it perfect. It’s just me, my thoughts, and the occasional tea break. Sometimes, my writing goes off on tangents, but hey, isn’t that part of the charm? ## Spending Time with Family (and Baby Anika!) Family time has become even more fun since Anika entered our lives. Watching her discover the world—rolling over for the first time, making funny noises, or simply giving that “I’m proud of myself” look—makes for some of the most joyful moments. Parenthood comes with its challenges, but the laughter and love it brings outweigh everything else. Plus, babies have a way of making even the grumpiest day better, don’t they? ## Life’s About the Little Things At the end of the day, fun doesn’t need to be extravagant. It’s about the things that make you smile, the moments that let you pause and enjoy. For me, these five activities are my escape, my therapy, and my little celebrations. So, what’s on your list? Maybe it’s time to find your own little slices of joy. ### What I’ve Learned from My Mistakes URL: https://snayak.com/what-ive-learned-from-my-mistakes/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:10:34.000Z I’ve always believed that mistakes are like those uninvited guests in life—they’re annoying, inconvenient, and at times, even painful. But if you pay attention, they often leave behind valuable lessons. Over the years, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes—some silly, some serious, and a few that still sting. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: mistakes aren’t failures; they’re life’s way of teaching us the hard stuff. Let me take you through some reflections that have shaped me. ## 1\. Not Every Battle is Worth Fighting When I was younger, I had this terrible habit of reacting to everything. A snide comment, a disagreement at work, or even a family argument—I’d dive in, armed with logic and emotions, ready to win the battle. But here’s the kicker: not every battle is worth fighting. I learned this lesson the hard way after a heated argument with a close friend. I was so focused on proving I was right that I ended up losing the friendship. What I’ve realized is that sometimes, walking away isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of wisdom. You don’t always need to win. You just need to preserve what truly matters. ## 2\. The Cost of Impatience Patience is a virtue—everyone knows this, right? But for the longest time, I thought speed was better. I’d rush into decisions—whether it was choosing my engineering stream (EEE, which I later regretted) or trying to fix things before understanding the root cause. One particular incident stands out. I once jumped at a job offer without thoroughly researching the company. The paycheck was good, and I thought, “What could go wrong?” Turns out, a lot could. It was a toxic environment that drained me mentally and emotionally. That mistake taught me to pause, evaluate, and trust the process instead of rushing to grab the first shiny thing that comes along. ## 3\. Taking People for Granted Hurts—Both Ways This one’s personal. There were times when I got so busy chasing goals that I forgot to cherish the people around me. My dad’s health scare a few years ago was the wake-up call I didn’t see coming. Until then, I was the classic "stubborn kid," wrapped up in my world, thinking I had all the time in the world to make things right. Watching him fight through his health problems shifted my priorities overnight. I learned to value family, friends, and those quiet, everyday moments we often overlook. Today, I try—keyword: *try*—to never let work or ego take precedence over people. ## 4\. Mistakes Are Messy, But They’re Also Necessary I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist. So when I messed up, I’d beat myself up over it for days. But here’s the funny thing: the more I messed up, the more I grew. It’s like building muscles at the gym—you don’t get stronger without a bit of discomfort. I remember when I first started working on leadership roles. I wanted to be the guy with all the answers, but in my eagerness, I’d sometimes micromanage or make decisions without involving my team. I saw the cracks forming—low morale, miscommunication, and projects that didn’t meet expectations. It was humbling, to say the least. But those experiences taught me the value of trust, collaboration, and listening more than talking. ## 5\. It’s Okay to Ask for Help For the longest time, I thought asking for help was a weakness. If I didn’t know something, I’d figure it out—alone. But this mindset often left me feeling isolated and overwhelmed. One day, during my MBA project (which, honestly, was giving me sleepless nights), Rajashree stepped in and offered to help. At first, I resisted, thinking I had to do it all myself. But when I finally let her in, not only did the project turn out better, but we also became closer as a team. That moment taught me that vulnerability isn’t a weakness; it’s strength in disguise. ## 6\. Forgiveness is Freedom Holding grudges was my superpower once upon a time. If someone wronged me, I’d hold onto it like a badge of honor. But here’s the thing about grudges—they weigh you down more than the other person. One turning point was when I forgave someone who’d deeply hurt me. It wasn’t easy, but it was liberating. I realized forgiveness isn’t about excusing the behavior; it’s about freeing yourself from the hold it has on you. Life’s too short to carry unnecessary baggage. ## 7\. The Biggest Mistake is Not Trying Lastly, if there’s one mistake I’ve made and corrected over the years, it’s this: not trying because of fear. I’ve missed opportunities because I was too scared to fail, too scared to be judged, or too scared to step out of my comfort zone. But every time I’ve taken that leap—whether it was writing my first blog, starting a new job, or becoming a father—it’s been worth it. Sure, I’ve stumbled, but the joy of trying outweighs the fear of failing. Always. ## Wrapping Up Mistakes are messy, uncomfortable, and, frankly, not fun when you’re in the middle of them. But looking back, they’re some of the best teachers I’ve had. They’ve taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of self-awareness. If you’ve made a mistake recently and you’re still beating yourself up about it, let me tell you this—give yourself grace. Learn the lesson, make amends if needed, and move on. Because life isn’t about being perfect; it’s about progress. And trust me, there’s beauty in the mess. ### Anika's Milestone: First Roll Over Moments URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-milestone-first-roll-over-moments/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:17:30.000Z Yesterday evening, a tiny miracle unfolded right in front of my eyes. It left me in awe of how precious and fleeting time truly is. Anika, my little bundle of joy, decided to surprise us a big milestones at once. At 8:50 PM, she amazed us again by rolling onto her tummy! For a second, the world around us paused. Rajashree and I exchanged a look that said, “Did we just witness that?” Anika, on the other hand, looked absolutely thrilled, as if she knew she had achieved something monumental. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. Her tiny fists clenched in victory. Her face lit up with a pride so pure it melted our hearts. 0:00 /0:20 1× We didn’t waste a second capturing this milestone. Pictures and videos were taken, and of course, the news was quickly shared with our family WhatsApp groups. The blessings, wishes, and love poured in, reminding us how Anika’s little moments bring happiness to everyone connected to her. In that moment, I felt a mix of emotions – joy, pride, and a deep sense of gratitude. Watching her grow, learn, and explore her world is nothing short of magical. It also made me realize something important. These milestones, though small in the grand scheme of life, are the ones that truly matter. Anika’s rolling over was more than just a physical milestone; it was a gentle reminder of how precious time is. She’s growing every day. She is discovering the world one little move at a time. She reminds me to pause, cherish, and celebrate every tiny achievement along the way. As I think about last night, I can’t help but smile. Life throws its challenges at us, but moments like these are what make it all worthwhile. They remind me that joy often lies in the simplest of things. It's like a tiny baby discovering the magic of movement for the very first time. Here’s to many more firsts, many more surprises, and many more reasons to celebrate. Anika, you’ve just rolled into a new chapter, and we’re so blessed to be right here, cheering you on. 💕 ### How Everyday Moments Create Lasting Love URL: https://snayak.com/how-everyday-moments-create-lasting-love/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:08:54.000Z Love doesn’t always come wrapped in grand gestures or poetic words. Love sometimes sneaks up on you during the most ordinary moments. It happens in a late-night conversation, a shared meal, or an unexpected act of kindness. One moment that made me feel truly loved occurred during those quiet nights. The world was asleep, and it was just Rajashree and me. ## The Scene: Midnight Chaos Meets Comfort It was one of those nights when everything seemed to pile up. Anika, our little bundle of energy, was restless and refusing to sleep. I was mentally exhausted after a long day at work. All I wanted was to collapse on the bed and zone out. But parenting doesn’t come with a pause button, does it? Rajashree, despite being equally exhausted, took charge. “You go lie down. I’ll handle her,” she said. I protested, but not for long. Honestly, I was so drained that her words felt like a lifeline. I crashed on the bed, only to hear her softly singing to Anika in the next room. ## A Quiet Act of Love Anika eventually calmed down and fell asleep. Instead of joining me in bed, Rajashree quietly tidied up the room. She folded tiny clothes and arranged toys that had somehow taken over our lives. When she finally lay down, I mumbled something about how she didn’t have to do all that. She just smiled and said, “I know. But it needed to be done, and you looked like you really needed rest.” In that moment, I felt an overwhelming wave of gratitude and love. ## Why It Mattered It wasn’t about the act itself—putting the baby to sleep or tidying up the room. It was about what it meant. It was her way of saying, I’ve got your back. We’re in this together. Love, I realized, isn’t always about big declarations. It’s in the everyday sacrifices. It's found in the unspoken gestures. It's also in the quiet moments when someone chooses to put your needs ahead of their own. ## The Takeaway: Love Is in the Small Stuff That night taught me that love doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. Sometimes, it’s in the simplest acts of care. It can be a hand on your shoulder. It can be a knowing smile or someone letting you rest when they know you need it most. And honestly, it’s those little moments that stay with you. In the end, love relies less on words. It's more about actions. I’m lucky to experience it in the smallest, yet most meaningful ways. ### Anika’s Third-Month Celebration: A Starry Night with a Rice Twist URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-third-month-celebration-a-starry-night-with-a-rice-twist/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:12:42.000Z Time keeps flying, and before we knew it, Anika turned three months old. With every milestone, she grows more curious and expressive, filling our home with endless joy. To celebrate her third month, we wanted to do something creative and different yet again. This time, the theme was inspired by the simplicity of everyday things combined with a hint of the night sky. My wife Lovely and my sisters Gudi and Sruti once again worked their magic, transforming an ordinary evening into a memory we’ll cherish forever. ### The Idea Behind the Photoshoot When planning her third-month photoshoot, we decided to use things that are part of our daily lives but often overlooked. That’s how we came up with the idea of using rice to create the number “3.” It felt meaningful—representing nourishment and growth, much like what Anika symbolizes for us. For the backdrop, we chose a vibrant red and navy-blue blanket, creating a starry-night effect. Adding small star cutouts gave it an extra dreamy vibe. Lovely dressed Anika in a soft white top adorned with tiny red and navy-blue designs, perfectly complementing the backdrop. She paired it with beige shorts that had the words “Pretty Girl” embroidered on them—a fitting choice for our little princess. A pastel pink headband completed the look, making her look as adorable as ever. ### The Day of the Shoot On the day of the photoshoot, the excitement was palpable. Anika, now more aware of her surroundings, seemed curious about the setup. Lovely kept her calm and engaged with soft lullabies while Gudi and Sruti got to work arranging the rice into a perfect “3.” It took a bit of effort—rice has a mind of its own, after all—but they eventually got it right. As we placed Anika on the blanket, she immediately started observing her surroundings. Her tiny hands clasped together, and her eyes followed the camera with an almost inquisitive look. She gave us a range of expressions, from her classic sleepy gaze to a playful smirk. Every moment felt precious. ### A Celebration of Growth This photoshoot wasn’t just about marking three months; it was a reflection of how far we’ve come as a family. The rice, the stars, the vibrant colors—everything felt symbolic of the journey so far. The stars represented the dreams we have for Anika, while the rice symbolized the foundation of love and care she’s been growing on. Watching Lovely, Gudi, and Sruti pour their hearts into every detail made me realize how much love surrounds Anika. From arranging the rice to capturing the perfect angle, every little effort spoke volumes about how much she means to all of us. ### A Starry Memory to Hold On To The photos turned out to be a perfect blend of simplicity and creativity. Anika lying next to the rice “3,” with tiny stars scattered around her, looked like a scene straight out of a storybook. But what made it truly special was the love and laughter that went into creating it. These photoshoots have become more than just monthly milestones; they’re a way for us to bond as a family and celebrate the little things that make life beautiful. As I look at the pictures now, I feel grateful for these moments that remind us to pause and cherish the journey of parenthood. When Anika looks back at these photos someday, I hope she sees more than just pictures. I hope she feels the love, creativity, and joy that went into celebrating every tiny milestone of her life. And as for us, we’ll always treasure these memories of our little star growing brighter with each passing month. ### Anika’s First Christmas Photoshoot: A Festive Celebration Full of Smiles URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-first-christmas-photoshoot-a-festive-celebration-full-of-smiles/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:12:56.000Z Christmas this year was extra special for us because it was Anika’s very first. The season of joy and togetherness felt even more magical with her around. To mark the occasion, my nephew Dugu and my wife Lovely decided to put together a small, heartwarming Christmas photoshoot for our little bundle of joy. With a Santa hat, a festive red outfit, and Anika’s contagious smile, it turned into a memory we’ll treasure forever. ### The Festive Planning As the holiday season rolled in, the idea of a Christmas-themed photoshoot came naturally. Lovely, as always, took the lead in planning the details while Dugu contributed with his creative flair. The theme was simple: Christmas vibes with a hint of Anika’s charm. Lovely dressed Anika in a bright red romper with an adorable bunny design on the front. The outfit had tiny polka-dot straps that added a playful touch. Topping it off with a classic red-and-white Santa hat was Dugu’s idea, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Together, they created a setup that was festive yet intimate, making it feel like a true celebration of the season. ### The Day of the Shoot The shoot was set up on a cozy navy-blue blanket to make the bright reds pop. Anika, now more interactive and curious, seemed to enjoy the attention. As we placed the Santa hat on her head, she gave us a look of pure innocence, followed by a mischievous smile that melted our hearts. Dugu took charge of the camera while Lovely ensured Anika was comfortable and in the mood to play along. Anika’s little hands reached out in excitement, and her expressions ranged from wide-eyed wonder to giggles that lit up the entire room. She seemed to know that this day was all about her, and she truly embraced the spotlight. ### The Magic of the Moment What made this photoshoot special wasn’t just the adorable setup or the festive theme—it was the love and effort that Dugu and Lovely poured into it. Watching them work together to capture Anika’s joy reminded me of the true essence of Christmas: family, love, and making memories that last a lifetime. The Santa hat, the bright red romper, and Anika’s radiant smile brought the holiday spirit to life. Every click of the camera captured not just her adorable poses but also the laughter and happiness that filled the room. ### A Christmas to Remember Looking at the photos now, I can’t help but smile. Anika’s first Christmas photoshoot wasn’t just a festive activity; it was a celebration of how much joy she has brought into our lives. The images are a blend of her innocence, the magic of the season, and the love of a family that cherishes her every moment. When Anika grows up and sees these photos, I hope she feels the warmth of that Christmas day. For us, this photoshoot is more than just a collection of pictures—it’s a reminder of the love that binds us together and the happiness that Anika has brought into our home. This Christmas, our little Santa didn’t just make the season brighter; she made our hearts fuller. And as we move forward, these memories will remain etched in our minds, reminding us of a Christmas filled with laughter, love, and the sweetest little Santa we could ever ask for. ### How This Incident Turned Me from a Carefree Kid into a Responsible Adult URL: https://snayak.com/biggest-learning-carefree-to-responsible/ Last updated: 2025-01-20T08:41:44.000Z You know, life has a way of teaching you lessons when you least expect it. ### Anika’s Two-Month Celebration: A Sweet Homegrown Photoshoot URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-two-month-celebration-a-sweet-homegrown-photoshoot/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:12:45.000Z Two months flew by in the blink of an eye, and Anika continued to surprise us with her little quirks and growing personality. To mark this milestone, we decided to have another photoshoot at home. This time, the theme was just as creative but had a fresh and citrusy twist. My wife Lovely, along with my sisters Gudi and Sruti, teamed up once again to create a simple yet meaningful setup that reflected how much joy Anika brings to our lives. ### Planning the Two-Month Photoshoot After the success of Anika’s one-month photoshoot, we wanted to do something equally unique but with a new touch. While brainstorming, someone suggested using fruits for the number “2,” and it instantly clicked. Oranges were the perfect choice—not just for their bright color but also for the cheerful energy they brought to the setup. Lovely chose a soft peach-colored outfit with tiny white hearts for Anika, matching the citrus theme perfectly. Gudi and Sruti worked on transforming our living room into a mini studio once again. A soft white bedsheet was laid down as the base, and the oranges were arranged carefully to form the number “2” next to Anika. It was simple, fresh, and had a warm vibe that matched Anika’s ever-growing charm. ### The Day of the Photoshoot The morning of the shoot started with the usual excitement and a little bit of chaos. Anika, true to her unpredictable nature, decided she wasn’t in the mood initially. Lovely worked her magic as usual, singing softly to her and rocking her gently until she was calm and content. Once she was ready, it was game on. As soon as we placed her in the setup, she seemed to settle right in. Gudi and Sruti took charge of the props and lighting, while Lovely made sure Anika was comfortable and her outfit was picture-perfect. The oranges, though simple, added a vibrant element to the frame, and Anika looked radiant in the soft glow of natural light streaming through the windows. Anika’s expressions were the highlight of the shoot. From her curious gaze to her tiny hand gestures, she gave us a variety of moments to capture. At one point, she even let out a little smile, as if she knew she was the star of the day. Watching her in that peach dress, lying next to the oranges, felt like looking at a perfect painting come to life. ### Why This Photoshoot Felt Special This two-month milestone felt like a celebration of how much she had grown in such a short time. From her tiny yawn during the one-month shoot to her alert, curious expressions this time, it was clear that she was already evolving into her own little person. The oranges weren’t just props; they represented the fresh energy she brought into our lives every day. Lovely’s thoughtful outfit choice, Gudi’s attention to detail, and Sruti’s lighthearted jokes during the setup added layers of love to this simple photoshoot. For us, these weren’t just pictures. They were snapshots of a phase we never wanted to forget. ### The Joy of Capturing Memories Once again, the photoshoot became more than just a creative exercise. It was a family bonding moment, filled with laughter, joy, and the occasional “move that orange slightly to the left!” Anika’s two-month celebration reminded us how precious these small milestones are. When we look back at these photos years from now, we’ll see more than just Anika lying next to a “2” made of oranges. We’ll see the love, effort, and togetherness that made these moments possible. And someday, when Anika looks at these pictures, I hope she feels the warmth and joy of a family that cherishes every moment with her. This two-month celebration, much like her one-month milestone, was a reminder of how the simplest things—like a few oranges and a lot of love—can create memories that last a lifetime. ### Anika’s One-Month Milestone: Full of Love and Memories URL: https://snayak.com/anikas-one-month-milestone-full-of-love-and-memories/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:14:39.000Z When Anika turned one month old, it felt like a milestone that deserved more than just a quiet acknowledgment. It called for celebration, reflection, and memories that would last forever. To mark this special occasion, my wife Lovely took charge. Along with my sister Sruti, they decided to organize a photoshoot at home. What unfolded that day wasn’t just about capturing pictures. It was about capturing love. It was about laughter and the pure joy of having Anika in our lives. The idea of an at-home photoshoot came naturally. Why go for fancy studio setups when the comfort of home carries its own charm? We cleared out a cozy little corner in the house and turned it into Anika’s mini studio. Lovely picked out Anika’s outfit—a delightful floral dress that matched her blossoming personality perfectly. To add a creative touch, Sruti suggested arranging candies to form the number “1.” This idea quickly became the central theme of the shoot. ### Setting Up: Transforming Home Into a Mini Studio The morning of the photoshoot was a mix of excitement and hustle. We cleared out a corner of the house, spreading a crisp white bedsheet as the base. The soft, neutral background complemented the bright colors of Anika’s outfit. Sruti took charge of the decorations, adding her creative flair. She carefully arranged pink candies into a perfect “1” next to Anika. This part turned out to be trickier than we thought, as the candies refused to stay aligned. After several attempts (and quite a few jokes), she finally got it right. Lovely, being the doting mom she is, ensured Anika was well-fed, comfortable, and ready for her big moment. She adjusted Anika’s floral dress. She placed a tiny pink headband on her. She also added a small bindi for that traditional touch. We stepped back to admire the setup. It felt like everything had come together beautifully. It was simple yet full of love. ### The Photoshoot: Capturing Every Precious Moment Anika, as if understanding the importance of the day, surprised us all with her calm demeanor. She lay on the white sheet, her tiny hands occasionally moving, and her curious eyes watching the camera flashes. She was the star of the day, and she owned it like a pro! The first few shots focused on Anika’s tiny expressions. They captured her soft smile, her wide-open eyes, and even her little yawns. As the shoot progressed, Anika started showing her playful side. She wiggled her hands and feet. It was almost as if she was posing. It was a sight to behold. At one point, Anika gave us her signature sleepy look. Sruti instantly clicked the shutter. It turned out to be one of the best shots of the day. Lovely, on the other hand, was busy ensuring Anika stayed comfortable throughout. And me? I was the official cheerleader, capturing behind-the-scenes moments on my phone. ### Why This Photoshoot Was Special This wasn’t just about the pictures; it was about creating a memory that encapsulated Anika’s first month in the world. The candies forming the “1” symbolized her first milestone. The floral dress reflected the brightness she brought into our lives. Every shot captured not just her innocence. It also captured the love and effort we all poured into making this day special. When I look at those photos now, I don’t just see Anika in her cute little outfit. I see Sruti crouching awkwardly to get the perfect angle, and Lovely softly humming to keep Anika calm. I see a family coming together to celebrate the newest addition to our lives. ### Memories That Will Last Forever The photoshoot ended with a sense of fulfillment. We managed to capture not just Anika’s expressions but also the essence of our family’s love for her. As we scrolled through the pictures later that evening, we couldn’t help but smile. Each photo told a story—of a baby discovering the world and a family discovering joy in the little things. When Anika grows up and sees these photos someday, I hope she feels the love that surrounded her that day. This photoshoot will always remind us of the day we celebrated her first milestone. We did this in the simplest, most heartfelt way. ### A Rainy Day, Mixed Emotions, and Our Baby's Naming Ceremony URL: https://snayak.com/rainy-day-mixed-emotions-and-our-babys-naming-ceremony/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:13:48.000Z The 21st day had finally arrived. It was a day we had been eagerly anticipating—a day to officially welcome our baby into the world and celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors. Our home in Puri Talamali Sahi had been transformed for the occasion, with colorful lights twinkling, balloons swaying gently, and the scent of fresh flowers filling the air. The stage was set, but like most memorable events, the journey to this day was filled with its share of challenges. ## The Preparations: A Family Effort 0:00 /0:42 1× The preparations began early. With Rajashree still recovering from her C-section, the task of getting the house ready fell to my mother, who took charge of cleaning and making sure everything was in perfect order. One of our close neighbors offered a helping hand, assisting us with balloon decorations and setting up the lights that added a festive sparkle to every corner. Bapi Mamu, my maternal uncle, handled the food and drink arrangements. In Odisha, we call our maternal uncles "Mamu," and he has always been the dependable organizer in the family. With Mahaprashada (Abhada) arranged and refreshments in place, everything seemed to be falling into order—except for one thing that was beyond our control. ## The Rain and Mixed Emotions ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/my-dad-holding-my-baby-girl.jpg) My Dad Holding My Baby Girl, ****Anika** The weather decided to test our patience that day. A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal brought heavy rain in the morning, and dark clouds lingered over our heads as if threatening to ruin the day. I kept checking the weather, hoping it would clear up in time for the ceremony. It wasn’t just the rain weighing on my mind; there was an odd mix of emotions. I was excited, nervous, and, honestly, a bit anxious. After all, this was one of the most significant moments for our little one, and I wanted everything to go just right. ## A Change of Plans for the Baby’s Outfit Amidst all the hustle, there was a last-minute change that added to the day's excitement. Rajashree had chosen a white romper for the baby, thinking it would be a simple and elegant choice. But my parents felt that it wasn’t festive enough for such a joyous occasion. So, in the eleventh hour, we switched to a beautiful pink dress that the baby's uncle had brought. The new outfit seemed perfect, adding a bright and cheerful touch to the celebration. ## The Ritual: A Moment of Tradition, Love, and a Name 0:00 /0:22 1× Traditional Rituals Being Performed at Home The ceremony began at 7:30 PM, just as the last droplets of rain faded away, almost as if nature itself was giving us its blessing. Friends, family, and neighbors gathered in the living room, filling the space with warmth and chatter. As the priest led us through the rituals, we reached the most awaited moment—the moment our little one would receive a name. Rajashree's brother, Bulu bhai, leaned in close, [whispering the carefully chosen name into the baby's left ear](https://snayak.com/finding-the-perfect-name-how-we-let-fate-choose-our-babys-name/), just as tradition dictates. The room seemed to hold its breath as he spoke. It was a moment that felt deeply sacred, as if that single word carried the hopes, love, and blessings of the entire family. From that point on, our little one was no longer just “the baby.” She was **Anika**. ## A Small Hiccup Amidst the Celebrations As the rituals continued, things took a brief, worrying turn. The room was quite crowded, and Anika seemed to be struggling a bit. She started to vomit, probably overwhelmed by the number of people around her. It was a moment that made my heart skip a beat. We quickly created some space to let her breathe, and thankfully, she was back to her usual self soon after. Still, it was a reminder that even in the midst of tradition and celebration, parenthood can bring unexpected challenges. ## Post-Ceremony Moments: Capturing the Day ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/IMG_0781.jpeg) Some Happy Moments! The day was far from over. After the rituals concluded, we took some time to capture a few family photos and videos. It had been hectic, with a mix of anxiety, relief, and pure joy. Yet, as we looked at the twinkling lights and the smiling faces around us, it felt like every effort was worth it. The rain had stopped just in time, as if it too had joined in blessing our little Anika. In the end, the ceremony was more than just a ritual. It was a day where tradition met modern life, where family and friends came together, and where we took the first steps in our journey with **Anika**—our little star, now officially named. ### Finding the Perfect Name: How We Let Fate Choose Our Baby's Name URL: https://snayak.com/finding-the-perfect-name-how-we-let-fate-choose-our-babys-name/ Last updated: 2025-04-16T11:46:35.000Z When our daughter arrived on September 30th, life took on a whole new meaning. Those first days were a mix of joy, exhaustion, and disbelief that we were actually parents now. And in the middle of all that chaos, one question kept popping up: what should we name her? It wasn’t just about finding something that sounded nice; we wanted a name that truly felt right for her, something meaningful that she could grow up with. ## Why It Had to Be Special From the start, we knew there was a deeper connection at play. Our daughter was born on the first day of Navaratri, a time that holds special significance for us. Rajashree is a devoted follower of Goddess Durga, and with our daughter making her entrance on such an auspicious day, it felt natural to choose a name related to Maa Durga. We wanted it to symbolize strength and grace, something that would carry a piece of the divine with it. But as we started exploring names, we realized we didn’t want to force it. The name didn’t have to fit into any strict mold; it just needed to feel right. So, we decided to start with names beginning with "A." It felt like a fresh start, and honestly, we just liked the sound of it. It seemed like a good place to start the journey. ## The Hunt for “The One” We didn’t rush it. We took our time, sifting through baby name lists, chatting about different options over chai, and even listening to some well-meaning suggestions from friends and family. (Yes, there were a few hilarious ones in there too!) But in the end, we knew it had to be a decision we made ourselves. We came up with a shortlist, names that seemed to fit her in our minds. But none of them gave us that “aha!” moment. It was a bit like trying to find a missing puzzle piece, where nothing quite seemed to snap into place. That’s when we decided to leave it to a bit of fate. ## The Moment of Destiny We thought, why not let her be a part of choosing her own name? So, we wrote our top picks on separate chits, placed them in front of her, and waited to see which one she’d reach for. There was this tiny moment of suspense as we watched her little hand move, and when she touched one of the chits, we both just looked at each other and smiled. It felt like she had chosen her own name, as if she was already telling us, "This is who I am." When we unfolded the chit and read the name, it just felt right. Simple, timeless, and meaningful, everything we were looking for. It wasn’t one of those dramatic “this is it!” moments you see in movies, just a quiet certainty that we had found her name. Or rather, she had found it for herself. ## Keeping It Close (For Now) We’re keeping the name to ourselves for a little while longer. It’s our little secret, something we’re holding close as we get used to calling her by it at home. We promise we’ll share it soon. For now, all we can say is that it’s a name that connects her to something bigger while still letting her carve her own path. ## A Lesson in Letting Go This whole experience wasn’t just about picking a name; it was about learning what it means to be parents. Sometimes, it’s okay to let go of logic, tradition, or what others think you should do. Sometimes, you just have to trust your instincts and go with what feels right. Letting her be a part of the decision, even in this small way, felt like a reminder that parenting isn’t just about guiding and teaching, it’s about listening and trusting the journey as it unfolds. If this is any indication of how we’ll navigate the many choices ahead, I think we’ll be okay. We’ll take it step by step, with a bit of faith and a lot of heart. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned already, it’s that some of the best moments in life happen when you just let them. ### The Process of Choosing Discomfort Over Regret in Life Decisions URL: https://snayak.com/the-process-of-choosing-discomfort-over-regret-in-life-decisions/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:06:37.000Z Life has a funny way of making us face decisions that, in the moment, feel like they define everything. Over the years, I’ve learned one crucial thing. Most of the toughest choices involve a simple trade-off: **Do I deal with discomfort now, or risk facing regret later?** And here’s the reality – **discomfort fades**. Trust me, it sound odd at first, but let me explain. I’ve experienced my fair share of uncomfortable moments. They range from career challenges to personal milestones. Yes, I’m including the sleepless nights that come with becoming a father. Discomfort arises often. It happens when navigating a tricky project at work. It’s there when pushing through a difficult decision. More recently, it accompanies stepping into fatherhood. But you know what? **Discomfort is temporary**. When my daughter was born last September, everything changed. Suddenly, the long nights of juggling work and life felt different. I was managing both my projects and the new little person in my life. There were moments when exhaustion felt like my new normal. As hard as it was, I realized that this discomfort was just a phase. The lack of sleep and the juggling of priorities would pass. I remember thinking, “Am I doing this right? Will I manage to give her the best?” That moment of doubt was uncomfortable, but I pushed through. And every time I see her smile now, it’s a reminder that pushing through the hard stuff is worth it. It’s like a muscle – you keep working at it, and eventually, you grow stronger. On the other hand, **regret**? That’s something that doesn’t just pass. It hangs around, lurking in the background. Regret is a voice that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. It whispers, “You should’ve done this” or “What if you had just tried?” One of my biggest early regrets was not stepping up to take on a leadership role at work. I had the chance but didn’t take it. Back then, I was worried about failing, about whether I had what it took. So, I stayed in my comfort zone. But years later, that decision gnawed at me. The discomfort of trying and maybe failing would’ve faded, but the regret of never knowing what happened? That stayed with me for a long time. The same principle applies now as a father. There are moments when it’s easy to let exhaustion take over. It’s tempting to settle into the routine. But I know that if I don’t make the effort now, I’ll regret it later. I must push through the discomfort of balancing work, fatherhood, and personal growth. Regret is tricky like that. It comes back when you’re least prepared, making you question the paths you didn’t take. So, these days, I choose discomfort more often. Not because I enjoy it, but because I’ve seen the long-term impact of both. The temporary sting of stepping out of my comfort zone, or the long-lasting ache of wishing I had tried? I’ll take discomfort every time. I remember the sleepless nights when I look back at finishing my MBA. Balancing work and life with Rajashree involved stressful deadlines and overwhelming moments. But I also remember the immense pride we felt once we had both completed it. That discomfort faded, and the joy of achieving something together took its place. Now, with my daughter in the picture, this lesson feels even more relevant. Being a father is a new kind of challenge, and every day brings its own set of uncomfortable moments. I’ve accepted that feeling uncomfortable is okay. I’d rather face those tough moments now than look back one day with regret. So, whether it’s in your career, personal life, or any big decision you’re facing, remember this: **Discomfort fades. Regret doesn’t**. Ask yourself, would you rather deal with a bit of discomfort today or live with regret tomorrow? I’ve learned that, for me, the answer is simple. Here’s to choosing discomfort now, so we can live without regrets later. ### Welcoming Our Baby Girl into the World: A Beautiful New Beginning URL: https://snayak.com/welcoming-baby-girl-new-beginning/ Last updated: 2025-04-16T11:46:59.000Z It still feels surreal as I write this, but on **30th September 2024, at 2:08 PM IST**, our lives changed forever. Rajashree and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl at **Sum Ultimate**, Bhubaneswar. All the waiting, the excitement, the nervous energy—it all came to a climax the moment we heard her first cry. There’s this indescribable feeling that hits you when you see your child for the first time. It’s like the world fades away for a second, and everything zooms into this tiny little being who has suddenly become the center of your universe. ### The Journey Leading Up to the Big Day ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/IMG_0602.jpeg) I won’t lie—these past few months have been a rollercoaster. From the late-night cravings to the pre-delivery jitters, we’ve had our fair share of emotional ups and downs. But through it all, one thing kept us going: knowing we were about to meet the little person who would make our world complete. The last few days before the delivery were intense. Rajashree had a scheduled C-section, and while we had mentally prepared ourselves, there’s always that anxiety bubbling under the surface. We both knew that after the 30th, everything would change in the most beautiful way possible. ### Meeting Our Daughter ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/IMG_0634-Large.jpeg) At exactly **2:08 PM**, our baby girl entered the world, and with her, she brought a flood of emotions we couldn’t have anticipated. Holding her for the first time was like holding the culmination of all our hopes and dreams, wrapped in the tiniest of bundles. I never realized how much love my heart could hold until I saw her. The moment she was placed in Rajashree’s arms, I could see the joy and relief in her eyes. After everything we’ve been through, this moment was worth every single second. ### A New Chapter Begins ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/IMG_0656-Large.jpeg) As we adjust to this new chapter, I can’t help but reflect on what lies ahead. There’s so much to look forward to—her first words, her first steps, and all the beautiful moments in between. Of course, I know there will be sleepless nights, countless diaper changes, and moments when we’ll wonder how on earth we’re going to handle it all. But that’s parenthood, right? The beauty of it lies in the chaos. ### Gratitude and Love ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/2024/10/IMG_0646-2-1.jpg) We are beyond grateful for the love and support we’ve received from our families, friends, and well-wishers. This journey would not have been the same without the people who’ve stood by us every step of the way. To Rajashree, my rock throughout all of this—you are a superhero. Watching you become a mother has been the most heartwarming experience of my life. And now, as we start this beautiful new chapter, we know one thing for sure—our hearts have never been fuller, and our lives have never been brighter. This day is just the beginning of a lifetime of memories. Welcome to the world, our little one—you are so, so loved. ### Which Topics Would I Like to Be More Informed About URL: https://snayak.com/which-topics-would-i-like-to-be-more-informed-about/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:13:50.000Z We all have that running list in our heads. These are topics we’re curious about but haven’t quite had the time to dive deep into. I often find myself in the same boat. Whether it’s because I’m juggling work. Or family. Or just trying to get through the day without forgetting my coffee on the kitchen counter. There’s always a reason why those areas of interest stay unexplored. But lately, I’ve been thinking. What if I made time to learn more about the things that keep tugging at my attention? Here’s a little glimpse into what’s presently sitting at the top of my “must-know-more” list. ### **Generative AI and Its Impact on Cybersecurity** I’ve spent considerable time researching the impact of **Generative AI** on **Cybersecurity** for my MBA in ITSM. Despite this, I’ve only scratched the surface of what this vast area holds. I’ve only scratched the surface of what this vast area holds. Sure, I’ve read articles, attended webinars, and done some practical applications, but there’s so much more to uncover. I remember when I first encountered AI-powered tools, I was blown away by their potential. Yet, with great power comes great risk (thank you, Uncle Ben). Cybersecurity is evolving rapidly, and I often wonder: How will AI reshape it? Will we see more sophisticated attacks or smarter defenses? It’s one of those areas where the learning curve feels steep. I know it’s a mountain worth climbing. This is especially true when my work as a production manager often crosses paths with operational security. ### **Parenting & Preparing for Fatherhood** Rajashree and I are expecting our baby in just a few weeks. Let me tell you, nothing has been more exhilarating. It is also slightly terrifying to think about stepping into fatherhood. I’ve been reading books, listening to podcasts, and asking friends about their experiences. But let’s be real: I’m still far from being fully prepared. I can’t help but recall the moment I first felt the baby move — it was surreal. It hit me that soon, I’ll be responsible for shaping this tiny human’s world. There’s so much I want to know more about. I want to learn about parenting styles. I also want to understand how to create a nurturing, balanced environment for our child. What’s the best way to foster curiosity? How do you handle those inevitable sleepless nights? These are questions that constantly linger in the back of my mind. ### **Investments Beyond Mutual Funds** I’ve been learning about investments for a while now, mainly focusing on mutual funds, large-caps, and mid-caps. I’ve made some decent progress. This is thanks to mentors like **Ankur Warikoo**. We also have the **X Money community**, where we discuss various financial strategies. But I know there’s more out there. There are realms beyond just mutual funds, like **real estate investments** or even **cryptocurrencies**. One day, while discussing financial freedom with a friend, he mentioned how diverse portfolios have helped him weather economic fluctuations. That conversation stuck with me. How can I diversify smartly? What are the upcoming trends that I need to be ahead of? These are the questions that keep my curiosity in overdrive. I’m slowly building up my knowledge. I’d love to dive deeper into creating a more robust financial strategy for the future. ### **Health & Fitness: Finding Balance Amidst the Chaos** Here’s a truth bomb — with everything going on, health often takes a backseat. Between late-night shifts and project deadlines, I gravitate towards the couch after a long day. I haven’t been the best at prioritizing fitness. Every time I watch a health video, I’m reminded of how crucial it is to take care of myself. When I read about someone’s transformation journey, I’m also reminded of this. It is especially important with a little one on the way. I’ve been thinking more about how I can find a better balance between work, personal growth, and fitness. Can I integrate small daily habits that make a difference? What’s a realistic fitness routine for someone with my schedule? I’ve started with short bursts of exercises here and there. I’d love to learn more about long-term strategies that fit my lifestyle. ### **Mindfulness & Emotional Well-Being** Stress is inevitable, especially when balancing work, life, and everything in between. I’ve always found ways to cope — whether it’s listening to music, catching up on audiobooks, or taking short naps. But mindfulness is something I’ve always been curious about. Not just as a quick-fix, but as a long-term tool to handle life’s ups and downs. I’ve used the **Calm app** for meditation on and off, and every time I do, I feel better, more grounded. Still, I wonder: How can I incorporate mindfulness into my daily routine in a way that sticks? What are some simple practices that help me be more attentive and emotionally resilient? It’s a journey I’m eager to explore further, especially with fatherhood around the corner. ### Wrapping It Up I think what excites me the most about these topics is that they aren’t just “good to know.” They’re essential for both my personal and professional growth. There’s a lot of learning ahead. It be understanding the future of AI. It be figuring out how to be the best father I can be. Or it finally nailing that fitness routine I’ve been putting off. There’s a lot of learning ahead. But that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it? The journey never ends — it only gets more interesting with time. So, what about you? What’s sitting on your “must-learn” list, waiting for a deep dive? Because trust me, no matter how much we know, there’s always something new to explore. ### Countdown to Parenthood: 12 Days Until Baby Arrives URL: https://snayak.com/countdown-to-parenthood-12-days-until-baby-arrives/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:16:20.000Z It’s hard to believe, but we’re just 12 days away from welcoming our baby into the world! Time has both flown by and slowed down at the same time. It feels like we have been waiting forever. Now that the C-section date is marked on the calendar, the reality of it all is sinking in. I’m caught between excitement. I feel a nervous energy that comes with knowing that life as we know it is about to change. In a big way. The idea that in less than two weeks, Rajashree and I will officially be parents? It’s a lot to wrap my head around. ## The Journey So Far Looking back, this pregnancy journey has been nothing short of amazing—and let’s be real, challenging at times too. Rajashree has been an absolute rock throughout it all, handling each step like the champ she is. There have been tough moments, sleepless nights (for her more than me!), and a lot of doctor visits, but we have come through stronger. Seeing her experience everything firsthand has been humbling. There were times I felt completely helpless, not knowing what to do other than being there for her. But she’s kept me steady with her calm strength, and for that, I’m forever grateful. ## Why We Chose a C-Section The decision to go with a C-section was not an easy one. We weighed all the options. We discussed them with our doctor. We ultimately chose the safest route for both Rajashree and the baby. It’s not the traditional delivery method. What matters most to us is that everything goes smoothly. Everyone comes out healthy. When we first heard that tiny heartbeat on the ultrasound, nothing else mattered. All I think was, “We’re in this together, and we’ll do whatever it takes.” Now, with 12 days to go, that sense of responsibility has only grown. ## Anticipating the Big Day I can’t stop imagining what it’s going to feel like when I hold our baby for the first time. Will I cry? Almost definitely. Will I be overwhelmed? Without a doubt. I know it’s going to be one of those moments that stays with me forever. It will be the kind that reshapes everything you thought you knew about life. There’s a certain quiet excitement that comes with knowing you’re on the edge of something amazing. Like the calm before a storm—not the chaotic kind, but the life-changing, beautiful kind. ## What Comes Next These next 12 days are going to be full of last-minute preparations. There will be final checklists. There will also be more than a few moments of nervous energy. There’s the whole nursery to finish. I need to pack the hospital bag. Of course, I need to mentally prepare myself for the sleep deprivation I know is coming! But even with all of that, I’m beyond ready. Ready for the sleepless nights, the diaper changes, and the new normal that’s about to hit us. But mostly, I’m ready for the love. I’m ready for the laughter. I’m ready for the joy that’s going to fill our lives once we welcome this little one into our world. ## Closing Thoughts So, here we are, just 12 days to go. It’s a strange mix of excitement. There is also anticipation. A bit of nervousness builds as we count down the final moments before our lives are forever changed. Every day feels like a whirlwind of emotions. We are preparing for this new chapter. We are surrounded by endless lists of baby supplies and heartfelt advice from friends and family. But in the end, all that really matters is that Rajashree and our baby are safe and healthy. I’ll be right there, holding her hand. I will offer my unwavering support. I am ready to meet our baby with a full heart and open arms. As we approach the moment of arrival, I find myself reflecting on all the dreams we have for our child. I also think of the love that awaits them. ### 30 Things That Make Me Happy URL: https://snayak.com/30-things-that-make-me-happy/ Last updated: 2024-10-17T13:03:01.000Z Happiness is indeed found in the little things, the everyday moments that bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. Feel free to share – happiness is even better when it’s shared! ### What Bothers Me and Why: A Personal Reflection URL: https://snayak.com/what-bothers-me-and-why-a-personal-reflection/ Last updated: 2024-10-17T13:21:30.000Z Sometimes, I get lost in deep thoughts, from small nuisances to big existential questions. It’s interesting how my mind switches between trivial things and profound reflections, revealing different aspects of my inner world. It’s a curious journey, wandering from the nuisance of a persistent mosquito to grappling with the weighty existential questions that permeate our existence. The contrasts within my contemplations are striking, ranging from seemingly trivial nuisances to profound, soul-stirring inquiries. Each moment of reflection unveils a new facet of my inner landscape, revealing a tapestry woven with both the mundane and the profound. ### The Unyielding Quest for Perfection: Top of the list? Perfectionism. Yes, the unreachable, often maddening desire for things to be perfect. This relentless pursuit can turn a perfectly good day into an endless marathon of tweaks and adjustments. It’s like trying to write a blog without a single typo using a keyboard covered in honey—sticky, frustrating, and frankly, unnecessary. The irony isn’t lost on me; I am striving for perfection in explaining how perfection bothers me! ### Disrespect for Time: Another contender is the casual disrespect for time—mine and others’. Waiting for someone who treats the agreed-upon time as a mere suggestion can be agonizing. It’s like watching a pot that never boils while you’re starving. Each passing minute feels like a tiny conspiracy against my schedule, orchestrated by the ever-ticking hands of the clock. Time, after all, is the one thing we all spend but never get back! ### Misinformation Superhighway: Then, there’s the relentless stream of misinformation. Living in the age of information should technically make us the most enlightened beings to walk the earth. Instead, we often paddle through a swamp of half-truths and sensationalism. It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but the needle keeps tweeting you misleading facts about hay. ### Lost in Digital Translation: In our hyper-connected world, misunderstandings that arise from digital communication are a frequent source of irritation. The tone doesn’t travel well through text, and emojis aren’t always the best diplomats. How many times have we read a message and crafted a narrative in our head that would give soap operas a run for their money? If only empathy and context could be as easily transmitted as a GIF! ### The Endless Chase for Likes: Social media, oh, social media—the digital double-edged sword. While it connects us to the world, it also serves up an endless buffet of social validation that we can’t seem to stop bingeing on. Each ‘like’ is a digital pat on the back, and the absence of it? A silent auditorium. It’s humorous yet slightly disconcerting how much a little heart symbol can influence our mood. ## Why Do these Things Bother Me? Reflecting on these bothers, I realize it’s not just the acts themselves but what they signify—a deviation from respect, truth, understanding, and genuine human connection. Each small annoyance is a reminder of a world busily buzzing, sometimes forgetting the simple harmonies of life. Yet, acknowledging what bothers us is a step towards understanding deeper aspects of our character. It teaches patience, perspective, and, importantly, a sense of humor about our human imperfections. So, the next time I find myself irked by the small stuff, I’ll try to laugh a little and remind myself that sometimes, it’s not the mosquito that needs swatting, but my reactions to it. Let’s navigate this noisy, messy, beautiful world with empathy and maybe, just a bit more humor. After all, taking life too seriously is perhaps the most bothersome thing of all. ### We Did It! The Story of Our MBA Journey URL: https://snayak.com/we-did-it-the-story-of-our-mba-journey/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:26:39.000Z As I sit down to pen this blog post, I can’t help but feel a wave of emotions washing over me. Rajashree and I have finally cleared our MBA, and what a journey it has been! The endless nights of studying, the early mornings spent in the library, the collaborative group projects, and the rigorous exams—each part of this endeavor has left an indelible mark on us. This achievement is not just a testament to our hard work and dedication but also to the unwavering support of our families, the empathy of our professors, and, yes, a lot of humor that kept us going through the tough times. Reflecting on this journey fills me with gratitude for the people who stood by us, the lessons we’ve learned, and the personal growth we’ve experienced along the way. ### It All Started with a Dream It all started with a shared dream. Rajashree and I had always wanted to pursue an MBA to advance our careers and broaden our horizons. Little did we know that this journey would bring us even closer, testing our patience, resilience, and sense of humour. From the get-go, we were each other’s biggest cheerleaders. When one of us felt overwhelmed by the avalanche of assignments and deadlines, the other would step in with a pep talk or a cup of coffee. It’s funny how a simple gesture can make such a big difference. ### Juggling Work, Studies, and Life Oh, the late nights and early mornings! Our house often looked like a war zone, with books, notes, and laptops strewn all over. Sleep became a luxury we could barely afford, and weekends? What are those? I was working full-time while pursuing the MBA, which meant juggling meetings, deadlines, and study sessions. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Rajashree, on the other hand, was six months pregnant while we were giving our final exams. **Talk about superwoman! She handled everything with grace and strength, even when the going got tough.** I remember one particularly grueling week when we had back-to-back exams and project submissions. We were running on fumes, and the only thing keeping us sane was our shared sense of humour. Rajashree would crack jokes about how we were turning into MBA zombies, and I would retaliate with my best zombie impression. Laughter, as it turns out, is the best medicine. ### Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Clearing an MBA is no small feat, and it would have been impossible without each other’s support. Rajashree often says that she couldn’t have done it without me, but honestly, it was a team effort. We leaned on each other, celebrated small victories, and picked each other up after setbacks. Our family and friends also played a crucial role. Their constant encouragement and understanding were invaluable. There were times when we had to miss family gatherings or social events, but they always understood and stood by us. ### The Big Day: Results Are In! When the results were finally announced, we were ecstatic! We had done it! All those sleepless nights, countless cups of coffee, and moments of self-doubt had paid off. We had achieved our goal, and the feeling was indescribable. But beyond the academic achievement, this journey taught us so much more. We learned about resilience, teamwork, and the power of a positive mindset. Most importantly, we realized that, together, we could overcome any obstacle. ### What’s Next? New Beginnings! As we move forward, we are filled with excitement and optimism. Our MBA has opened new doors for us, and we are ready to take on new challenges. But no matter where life takes us, we will always cherish this journey and the lessons it has taught us. To anyone out there pursuing a similar goal, remember this: The journey might be tough, but with support, empathy, and a good sense of humour, you can achieve anything. Celebrate the small victories, lean on your loved ones, and don’t forget to laugh along the way. And with that, Rajashree and I raise a toast to our MBA journey. It’s been one heck of a ride, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Cheers to love, support, and laughter – the true ingredients of success! ### Finding Balance: Honoring My True Self While Navigating Expectations URL: https://snayak.com/finding-balance-honoring-my-true-self-while-navigating-expectations/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:28:21.000Z Life’s journey is full of important questions, and one that often comes up for me is: Am I really being true to myself, or am I just trying to make others happy? This question is simple but deep and affects many decisions I make and paths I take. It resonates with me in various aspects of my life, from my career choices to personal relationships. It’s a question that nudges me to reflect on my values, desires, and aspirations, urging me to find a balance between honoring my authentic self and considering the impact of my actions on those around me. This introspection has become a cornerstone of my decision-making process, shaping the way I navigate through the complexities of life, relationships, and personal growth. Growing up in a traditional Indian family, I was taught early to always think about making others happy. The question “What will people think?” influenced almost everything, from small daily choices to big life decisions. This often pushed aside my own dreams and desires. In this environment, I learned the value of self-sacrifice and putting others first, but it also meant that I struggled to prioritize my own happiness and fulfillment. As I navigated through adulthood, I started realizing the importance of finding a balance between meeting the expectations of my family and community, and staying true to my own aspirations and well-being. It has been a journey of self-discovery and learning to value my own desires and dreams while still respecting the traditions and values that are important to me. When I was young, I loved learning about space and the stars. I spent many hours with friends gathering pictures and articles about aliens and space exploration. These were the things that truly excited me. However, as I got older, I had to put these interests aside to meet the expectations of those around me. I also had a deep fascination with how the human body works, and I dreamed of being a doctor, specifically a neurologist. But the people around me thought this was too ambitious and unrealistic given our family’s situation. Conversations at home were filled with advice from relatives and family friends about choosing a “practical” and “secure” career. Gradually, my dream of becoming a doctor was pushed aside for more traditional career paths. Early in my career, I remember nights spent buried under piles of paperwork, feeling the heavy weight of meeting everyone else’s expectations but my own. It was during one of these late nights, surrounded by plans and files that reflected everyone’s vision but mine, that I realized something needed to change. This pattern of trying to please others first showed up clearly when I had to choose my major in college. Even though I was really interested in computers and IT, I ended up choosing Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). I felt out of place right from the start. The subjects that my classmates found exciting were completely uninteresting to me. I had no passion for them, and each class was a reminder that I was not on the right path. Feeling out of place was tough; it made me feel disappointed and frustrated. I had made a significant life choice based on what others wanted, not what I wanted. This difficult experience, however, taught me a very important lesson about following my own path and staying true to what I’m passionate about. This lesson has guided many of the choices I’ve made since then. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how important it is to balance making others happy with being true to myself. It’s not about ignoring what others need, but making sure that my choices truly reflect who I am inside. Now, I try harder to listen to my own voice. Every decision I make is an opportunity to ensure that my life reflects my true self. In this ongoing journey of self-discovery, I’ve realized that being true to oneself isn’t selfish; it’s essential for a fulfilled life. Each day offers a new chance to align more closely with my true self, making choices that enrich both my personal and professional life. The most important conversation is the one I have with myself each night before bed, looking in the mirror, knowing I’ve lived another day true to myself. That’s the promise I renew every night, to that reflection staring back at me. ### The Evolution of Success: Redefining What It Means to Win URL: https://snayak.com/the-evolution-of-success-redefining-what-it-means-to-win/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:16:16.000Z Success is a chameleon. It changes color with our age, our experiences, and our personal growth. Looking back, my definition of success has undergone a dramatic transformation. In my younger days, success was a shiny object—visible, tangible, and often tied to external validation. But as I’ve navigated life’s winding paths, I’ve discovered that true success is deeply personal, more about inner fulfillment than outward accolades. When I first started my professional journey, I was fixated on climbing the corporate ladder. I believed that success was measured by job titles, promotions, and the size of my paycheck. I threw myself into work, often staying up late, sacrificing personal time, and pushing myself to the brink of exhaustion. The thrill of a new title or a raise was intoxicating. It felt like winning a race, a validation of my hard work and dedication. But beneath that thrill, there was a growing sense of emptiness. I recall a time when I had just received a significant promotion. On paper, it was a triumph. Yet, as I sat alone in my office that night, the elation quickly faded, replaced by a nagging question: “Is this it?” That moment was a wake-up call. I realized that the external markers of success, while important, were not enough to sustain a deep sense of fulfillment. Joining the X Money community was a pivotal moment in my journey. Engaging with like-minded individuals about financial literacy and personal growth expanded my horizons. It dawned on me that success wasn’t just about accumulating wealth, but about achieving financial independence and security. It was about making informed decisions that aligned with my long-term goals and values. This shift in perspective was liberating. It transformed my approach to money from one of pursuit to one of purpose. Another milestone in my redefinition of success was pursuing an MBA in ITSM. Initially, it seemed like a logical step to advance my career. But it turned out to be so much more. Success began to feel like an intellectual adventure, a journey of continuous learning and growth. It wasn’t about adding another degree to my resume, but about expanding my knowledge and challenging myself. On a deeply personal level, my relationship with Rajashree and our upcoming parenthood have profoundly reshaped my vision of success. Preparing for the arrival of our baby has brought a new dimension to my life. Success now encompasses creating a loving and supportive environment, being present for my family, and finding joy in everyday moments. It’s about striking a balance between professional aspirations and personal commitments, and cherishing the simple, yet profound experiences that life offers. Reflecting on these changes, I’ve come to understand that success is not a static goal but a dynamic process. It’s about aligning our achievements with our values and finding happiness in the journey rather than just the destination. It’s about growth—professional, intellectual, and emotional. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the chase for external markers of success. But true success, I’ve learned, lies in defining it on our own terms. It’s about setting meaningful, personal benchmarks and finding fulfillment in our pursuits. It’s a personal narrative that each of us writes, shaped by our experiences, aspirations, and the unique paths we choose to walk. As I continue this journey, I remind myself that success is about becoming the best version of myself, day by day. It’s about making progress, however small, and finding contentment in the process. Most importantly, it’s about understanding that success will continue to evolve as I do, and that’s what makes the journey truly worthwhile. **So now, I am asking you, what does success mean to you?** ### Enhance Daily Comfort with Mindfulness, Music, and Gaming URL: https://snayak.com/enhance-daily-comfort-with-mindfulness-music-and-gaming/ Last updated: 2024-10-17T13:29:11.000Z Comfort isn’t just about plush cushions and cozy blankets; it’s a holistic approach that encompasses mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Over the years, I’ve found a few strategies that significantly enhance my daily comfort, helping me maintain a balance between work and relaxation. Here’s a glimpse into my comfort toolkit. When it comes to mental well-being, I find that practicing mindfulness and gratitude can have a profound impact. Setting aside time for meditation and reflection allows me to quiet the noise of the day and connect with a sense of peace. Emotionally, maintaining strong connections with loved ones and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment are essential components of my comfort routine. On a physical level, regular exercise, a balanced diet, and good sleep hygiene play a crucial role in how comfortable I feel on a daily basis. These facets of comfort intertwine, creating a harmonious foundation for a fulfilling lifestyle. ### The Pomodoro Journey: Finding Focus Amidst the Chaos ![red tomato on red surface](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/pexels-photo-3943202.jpeg) Photo by cottonbro studio on [Pexels.com](https://www.pexels.com/photo/red-tomato-on-red-surface-3943202/?ref=snayak.com) It all started during a particularly hectic week at work. Deadlines were looming, and my stress levels were through the roof. One evening, while scrolling through productivity hacks, I stumbled upon the Pomodoro Technique. Intrigued by the simplicity of it, I decided to give it a shot. As I delved deeper into the technique, I found that breaking my work into manageable intervals not only boosted my productivity but also helped me maintain better focus. The structured approach of working for 25 minutes followed by a short break was surprisingly effective, allowing me to tackle tasks with renewed energy and concentration. I also noticed a significant reduction in my stress levels as a result of implementing this technique. Fast forward a few weeks, and the Pomodoro Technique had become an integral part of my daily routine, providing me with a sense of control and accomplishment amidst the demands of my work. The next day, I set my timer for 25 minutes and dived into my tasks with laser focus. The ticking timer was a constant reminder to stay on track. When the timer went off, I took a five-minute break, stretching my legs and grabbing a quick snack. I repeated this cycle four times, and by the end of the session, I felt surprisingly accomplished and less overwhelmed. This technique became my go-to strategy. Breaking my work into manageable intervals not only boosted my productivity but also introduced a rhythm to my day. It’s amazing how much you can achieve when you’re working with intention and taking regular breaks to recharge. ### Melodies of Comfort: The Healing Power of Music ![tilt shift photo of acoustic drum set](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/pexels-photo-995301.jpeg) Photo by Josh Sorenson on [Pexels.com](https://www.pexels.com/photo/tilt-shift-photo-of-acoustic-drum-set-995301/?ref=snayak.com) Music has always been a significant part of my life, but I truly realized its comforting power during a rough patch. One particularly stressful morning, I decided to play some of my favorite tunes by Dua Lipa and Justin Bieber to lift my spirits. As the music filled the room, I felt a wave of positivity wash over me. From that day on, I started curating playlists for different parts of my day. My mornings began with upbeat tracks to kickstart my energy. During work hours, instrumental and lo-fi beats helped me stay focused without getting distracted by lyrics. In the evenings, I turned to soothing melodies by Luis Fonsi and Sean Paul to unwind. Music became my sanctuary. It was a constant companion, providing comfort and inspiration no matter the situation. Whether I was facing a challenging project or just needed to relax, my Spotify playlists were always there to set the right mood. ### Calm Amidst the Storm: Embracing Meditation ![silhouette of man at daytime](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/pexels-photo-1051838.jpeg) Photo by Prasanth Inturi on [Pexels.com](https://www.pexels.com/photo/silhouette-of-man-at-daytime-1051838/?ref=snayak.com) There was a time when I struggled to manage stress and anxiety. I had heard about the benefits of meditation but was skeptical about its impact. One evening, feeling particularly restless, I downloaded the Calm app and decided to give it a try. I started with a simple 10-minute guided meditation. The soothing voice of the instructor and the calming background sounds helped me focus on my breath and let go of my worries. After the session, I felt a sense of clarity and peace that I hadn’t experienced in a long time. Meditation became a daily ritual. I began my mornings with a short session to set a positive tone for the day. During stressful moments, a quick five-minute meditation break helped me regain my composure. And before bed, the sleep stories and guided meditations on Calm ensured I had a restful night’s sleep. Meditation was a game-changer. It helped me manage stress, improve my focus, and find inner peace amidst the chaos of daily life. ### Escaping Reality: The Joy of Gaming ![black game console on wooden surface](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/pexels-photo-682933.jpeg) Photo by Garrett Morrow on [Pexels.com](https://www.pexels.com/photo/black-game-console-on-wooden-surface-682933/?ref=snayak.com) Growing up, I always loved playing games. But it wasn’t until adulthood that I truly appreciated their power to provide comfort and relaxation. One evening, after a particularly grueling day, I picked up my phone and played a quick casual game. For those few minutes, I was transported to a different world, free from stress and responsibilities. Games became my go-to escape. During short breaks, I indulged in quick, casual games on my phone. They were like mini-vacations, giving my mind a chance to reset. In the evenings, I switched to more immersive games on my iPad, diving into thrilling adventures and puzzles. Gaming wasn’t just about entertainment; it was about finding joy and relaxation in the midst of a busy life. It provided a perfect balance to my work, allowing me to unwind and recharge. ### Balancing Comfort and Productivity: An Ongoing Journey Finding the right balance between comfort and productivity is an ongoing journey. Here are a few tips that have helped me: 1. **Set Clear Boundaries:** Define work hours and relaxation time. Stick to these boundaries to ensure you have dedicated time for both. 2. **Create a Comforting Workspace:** A clutter-free, comfortable workspace can significantly boost productivity and comfort. I keep my workspace organized and personalized with items that make me happy. 3. **Listen to Your Body:** Pay attention to your body’s signals. If you feel tired or stressed, take a break. It’s essential to listen to your body and mind to maintain a healthy balance. 4. **Incorporate Micro-Breaks:** Short, frequent breaks can do wonders for your productivity and comfort. Use these breaks to stretch, hydrate, or simply breathe. ### The Journey to Comfort Comfort is a personal journey, and what works for one person might not work for another. For me, implementing the Pomodoro Technique, listening to music, meditating with the Calm app, and playing games have significantly enhanced my daily comfort. These strategies help me stay productive while ensuring I take care of my mental and emotional well-being. Remember, comfort isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. By finding what brings you peace and incorporating it into your daily routine, you can create a balanced and fulfilling life. So, take a moment to identify what makes you feel comfortable and make it a part of your everyday life. ### Rebooting My Blog: A Journey to Authenticity and Connection URL: https://snayak.com/rebooting-my-blog-a-journey-to-authenticity-and-connection/ Last updated: 2024-10-17T13:29:52.000Z It was a late Thursday night in Bhubaneswar; the city’s usual hustle had faded into a calm silence. I sat at my desk, a cup of masala chai growing cold beside me, staring at my blog on the screen. The numbers were discouraging. Engagement had plummeted, and my once lively blog felt lifeless. I knew it needed a change—something more than just a new post. As I gazed out the window, the moonlight gently illuminated the deserted streets, casting a serene glow over the city. With a sigh, I realized that perhaps it was time to explore new and innovative ways to connect with my audience. The thought of revamping the blog with interactive content and engaging visuals crossed my mind, sparking a glimmer of excitement within me. The city’s silence seemed to whisper a promise of renewal, and I felt a surge of determination to breathe new life into my beloved blog. Excitedly, I grabbed my notebook and began jotting down ideas, eager to embark on this creative journey towards revitalizing my online platform. ## Realization and Revamp I remembered a recent conversation with Rajashree, where we discussed our baby’s future. We talked about our dreams for our little one—the kind of education we hope for, the values we want to instill, and the adventures we envision sharing as a family. Alongside these hopes, we also delved into our fears, uncertainties, and the challenges we may face as parents. It was a deeply emotional and insightful exchange, filled with raw emotions, honesty, and vulnerability. This conversation made me realize that this level of authenticity and heartfelt connection is precisely what my blog has been missing all along. With a renewed sense of purpose, I decided to revamp my blog that very night. But this time, I aimed to make it personal, truly reflective of who I am and what I believe in. I began by sharing more of my own experiences, the highs and lows, the lessons learned, and the moments that shaped me. As I delved deeper into my thoughts and memories, I found myself uncovering a treasure trove of untold stories and emotions waiting to be expressed. ## The Evolved Blog Each blog post became a canvas to paint the vivid tapestry of my life, allowing readers to resonate with the authenticity and genuineness of my journey. Opening up in this way not only brought a sense of catharsis but also formed connections with others who could see a piece of themselves in my words. Through every new entry, my blog evolved into a sanctuary of empathy and understanding, embodying the shared experiences and wisdom of a community bonded by mutual respect and vulnerability. With each post, I delved deeper into my thoughts and emotions, weaving a rich narrative that spoke to the universal human experience. My writing became an invitation for introspection and contemplation, a gentle nudge for readers to explore their own stories and find solace in the interconnectedness of our experiences. As the blog gained momentum, it transformed into a platform for open dialogue, where diverse perspectives converged to create a mosaic of collective insight and enlightenment. In sharing my vulnerabilities, I found strength, and in embracing the complexities of life, I discovered the beauty of resilience and growth. This evolution not only enriched my own journey but also contributed to a broader tapestry of communal understanding and compassion. ## Embracing Personal Storytelling One of the first posts in this new direction was about our pregnancy journey. I wrote about the joy of discovering Rajashree was pregnant, the anxious moments during check-ups, and the overwhelming emotions we felt with every tiny movement of our baby. The response was overwhelming. Readers connected with our story, sharing their own experiences and offering words of encouragement. It was then that I realized the power of personal storytelling. Inspired by this, I continued to share more personal anecdotes. I wrote about our memorable trip to Rourkela, where we explored the serene Veda Yash and the majestic Hanuman Vatika. I described the joy of swimming in the hotel pool and the amusing incident of eating biryani standing by the roadside because we forgot to bring plates. These stories, filled with small, relatable details, resonated with my audience in ways I hadn’t anticipated. ## Blending Personal and Professional I also opened up about my professional journey, detailing my transition from a developer to an operational production manager at Accenture. I shared my challenges, the mistakes I made, and how I applied lessons from books like ‘The 48 Laws of Power’ in real-life scenarios. These posts sparked meaningful conversations with readers who were navigating similar career paths. The shift in my blog’s tone and content wasn’t just about sharing happy moments. I also wrote about my struggles with stress, my methods of coping, and the importance of mental health. I shared how listening to music, podcasts, and taking quick naps helped me regain focus. These candid admissions made my blog a safe space for others to share their vulnerabilities and seek advice. ## Recognizing the Impact Engagement started to pick up. Comments were no longer just about the content but about shared experiences and genuine connections. My Twitter and LinkedIn feeds also saw a rise in interactions. People appreciated the blend of professional insights with personal stories, and my follower count steadily grew. One of the most heartwarming moments came when a reader messaged me, saying, “Your blog feels like a conversation with a friend.” That’s when I knew I was on the right path. By making my blog more personal, I had created a community—a space where people felt heard and valued. This connection with my readers has been incredibly rewarding, as I’ve had the opportunity to share not only my experiences but also to learn from the diverse perspectives and stories they bring to the table. It’s amazing how a simple blog can turn into a supportive network, fostering meaningful connections and discussions that go beyond the virtual world. Through this journey, I’ve realized the immense power of authenticity in building relationships, and seeing my readers resonate with my content has been a source of inspiration to continue nurturing this welcoming environment. ## What’s next? Rebooting my blog wasn’t just about changing the content; it was about changing the approach. It taught me the importance of authenticity and the power of storytelling. In sharing my journey, I found my voice, and in doing so, I captured the hearts of my audience. As I sit here, reflecting on the journey so far, I feel a sense of fulfillment. My blog is no longer just a platform; it’s a reflection of my life, my thoughts, and my growth. And that, I believe, is what truly resonates with people. Here’s to the journey of authenticity and the connections we build along the way. ### Waiting for Our Baby's Arrival: Lessons Learned as a Soon-to-Be Father URL: https://snayak.com/waiting-for-our-babys-arrival-lessons-learned-as-a-soon-to-be-father/ Last updated: 2024-10-17T13:35:51.000Z As the days draw closer to the arrival of our little one, I’ve found myself on a journey of reflection and growth that I hadn’t anticipated. The wait has been more than just counting down the days; it’s been a period of immense learning, personal growth, and deepening connections. Here are some of the invaluable lessons I’ve learned as a soon-to-be father. This period of anticipation has allowed me to appreciate the simple moments in life, savoring each precious day as I prepare for the joyous arrival of our baby. It has also provided me with the opportunity to strengthen my bond with my partner as we navigate the excitement and uncertainty together, ultimately bringing us even closer. Reflecting on my role as a father-to-be has given me a newfound sense of responsibility and purpose, motivating me to become the best version of myself for our child. Embracing this journey has not only prepared me for the practical aspects of parenthood, but also enriched my understanding of love, patience, and compassion in ways I never could have imagined. ## Patience is Truly a Virtue The anticipation of our baby’s arrival has taught me the true meaning of patience. In a world where everything is expected to happen instantly, waiting for nine months has been a humbling experience. I remember the early days when [Rajashree and I first saw the positive pregnancy test](https://asksnehasish.com/pregnancy-discovery-a-new-beginning-with-our-little-miracle/?ref=snayak.com). We were overjoyed and immediately started planning for the future. However, as the months went by, I realized that this journey required more than just excitement; it required patience. I learned to embrace the waiting period, understanding that good things truly do come to those who wait. It’s a lesson that extends beyond just pregnancy, reminding me to be patient in all aspects of life. The waiting allowed me to reflect on the changes happening within me, both physically and emotionally. It gave me the opportunity to prepare for the new chapter of life that was about to unfold, making me appreciate the transformation I was undergoing. While it wasn’t always easy, the waiting period taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and the beauty of anticipation. This experience helped me cultivate a sense of calm and tranquility, knowing that some of the most precious things in life require time and nurturing to blossom fully. I found strength in the patience I exercised and the strength it brought to my character, shaping me into a more resilient and understanding individual. ## The Power of Support and Partnership Throughout this incredible journey of pregnancy, Rajashree and I have grown closer than ever, forging an unbreakable bond as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our little one. Witnessing her unwavering strength and remarkable resilience as she navigates the ups and downs of carrying our child has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. I cherish the moment etched in my memory when we first felt the baby kick. As we sat together on the cozy couch, enveloped in an atmosphere of profound anticipation, Rajashree suddenly paused, her eyes lighting up with joy, as she grabbed my hand and tenderly placed it on her gently swelling belly. The sheer wonder and excitement of feeling our baby’s movement for the very first time is a precious memory that I will forever hold dear. Our shared experiences, from the joy of feeling the baby kick for the first time to the anxious nights of wondering if we are prepared, have solidified our partnership. I’ve learned the importance of being a supportive partner, and that sometimes, just being there and listening is the most valuable support one can offer. ## Preparing for the Unknown Despite all the books, blogs, and podcasts I devoured, and despite the endless advice from well-meaning friends and family, the truth is, nothing can fully prepare you for the transformative journey of parenthood. The sleepless nights, the overwhelming love, the unexpected challenges—they all combine to create a tapestry of experiences that redefine who you are. This realization has taught me not only to embrace the unknown but to dance with it, to find joy and growth in the unexpected, and to be resilient and flexible in the face of whatever parenthood may throw my way. It’s a continuous learning process, an ongoing adventure that shapes and reshapes me in ways I never imagined. Life is truly a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. Embracing the unpredictable nature of life has been an invaluable lesson for me. It has allowed me to release the grip on my overwhelming desire to micromanage every aspect of my existence. Instead, I have learned to cultivate a mindset of flexibility and resilience, welcoming each new challenge as an opportunity for personal growth. This shift in perspective has enabled me to navigate through life with a sense of openness and adaptability, understanding that every experience, whether joyful or challenging, contributes to my ongoing development as an individual. ## The Depth of Responsibility The thought of being responsible for another human being is both exhilarating and daunting. It has made me more conscious of my actions and decisions. I’ve started thinking about the kind of role model I want to be and the values I wish to impart to our child. One evening, while browsing through baby clothes, I found myself contemplating the kind of future I want for our baby. This sense of responsibility has driven me to strive for continuous self-improvement, ensuring that I can provide the best possible environment for our baby. ## The Joy of Small Moments In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to overlook the small moments that bring joy. Waiting for our baby’s arrival has slowed things down, allowing me to savor these moments. From setting up the nursery to sharing our hopes and dreams for our child, these small moments have become cherished memories. We spend evenings imagining the adventures our child will have, the books we’ll read together, and the traditions we hope to establish as a family. These quiet moments of anticipation have brought us closer together, filling our hearts with love and excitement. ## Emotional Growth This journey has brought a whirlwind of emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and uncertainty. Navigating these emotions has taught me to be more in tune with myself and to communicate more openly with Rajashree. It has been a period of emotional growth, helping me become more empathetic and understanding, qualities I hope to carry forward as a father. I remember a particularly rough day when we were both feeling overwhelmed. Instead of bottling up our emotions, we sat down and talked about our fears and anxieties, and it brought us closer together. This open and honest conversation allowed us to not only address the immediate challenges but also to deepen our understanding of each other’s concerns. As we shared our vulnerabilities, we found strength in each other’s support and empathy. It was a turning point in our relationship, reinforcing the trust and connection we had built over time. The experience taught us the power of communication in navigating difficult circumstances, and it became a foundation for how we approach challenges as a team. ## Anticipating the Future While there are worries about the future, there is also immense excitement and hope. Imagining the milestones and memories we’ll create with our child fills me with a sense of purpose. This anticipation has reminded me of the importance of living in the moment while also looking forward to the future with optimism and enthusiasm. One of our favorite activities has been imagining what our baby’s first words might be or what kind of personality they’ll have. These discussions have been a source of joy and have helped us bond even more. We find ourselves lost in reverie, picturing the little one’s infectious laughter, the way they might scrunch up their nose when trying new foods, or how they might reach out to grab our fingers for the first time. Sharing these hopes and dreams for our baby’s future has brought us even closer together as we eagerly await the arrival of our bundle of joy. ## Conclusion As we await the arrival of our baby, I’ve come to realize that this journey is just as much about personal growth as it is about welcoming a new life into the world. The lessons learned during this time are ones that I will carry with me, not just as a father, but as a person striving to be better every day. I am grateful for this period of waiting, for it has taught me to be patient, supportive, responsible, and to cherish the small moments in life. The journey has just begun, and I am ready to embrace every moment with open arms and a full heart. ### Embracing the Unknown: Exciting Plans for the Future URL: https://snayak.com/embracing-the-unknown-exciting-plans-for-the-future/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:33:14.000Z As I sit at my desk, a gentle breeze drifting through the open window, I find myself reflecting on the past and, more importantly, looking ahead to the future. There’s a certain magic in the air, a blend of excitement and anticipation that fills my heart with a sense of wonder. The future, with all its uncertainties and possibilities, beckons like an uncharted adventure waiting to be explored. In the midst of this reflection, one particular aspect of the future stands out, something that fills me with unparalleled excitement: the upcoming arrival of our baby. Rajeshree and I are eagerly counting down the days until we welcome this new life into our world. The thought of holding our little one for the first time, seeing those tiny fingers and toes, and hearing that first cry is a feeling beyond words. It’s a beautiful mix of joy, nervousness, and overwhelming love. But it’s not just about becoming parents. The future holds so much promise in various facets of our lives. Professionally, I’m deeply engrossed in my research on the impact of Generative AI on cybersecurity. This endeavor has opened my eyes to the vast potential and challenges of the digital age. The thrill of discovering new insights and contributing to a field that’s evolving at lightning speed is invigorating. I can almost see the horizon where our technological advancements meet the critical need for robust security measures, and I’m excited to be a part of that journey. Moreover, my ongoing projects and engagements continue to inspire me. Helping Rajeshree with her MBA project on the impact of remote work on employee engagement and productivity has been an enlightening experience. We’ve had countless discussions, exchanged ideas, and learned so much together. This collaborative effort has not only strengthened our bond but also deepened our understanding of the modern work environment. It’s fascinating to witness how remote work is reshaping the landscape and how organizations are adapting to this new paradigm. On a personal note, our love for travel remains undiminished. The memories of our trips to Sambalpur and San Francisco are etched in our hearts, and we dream of future adventures in places like Switzerland. The excitement of exploring new cultures, tasting exotic cuisines, and immersing ourselves in breathtaking landscapes is a passion we both share. Each journey adds a new chapter to our story, enriching our lives with experiences that go beyond words. And then there’s the simple joy of everyday life. From enjoying a quiet evening listening to music to diving into a captivating book, these moments of tranquility and reflection are treasures in themselves. My passion for writing, whether it’s tweets on leadership and self-development or in-depth blog posts, continues to be a source of fulfillment. Connecting with like-minded individuals, sharing insights, and learning from others is a journey of constant growth. As I look ahead, I realize that the future is not just a distant destination but a series of moments waiting to be lived. It’s about embracing the unknown with an open heart, cherishing the present, and dreaming big. The excitement lies in the journey, the experiences that shape us, and the people we share them with. So, here’s to the future—full of promise, potential, and endless possibilities. I can’t wait to see what it holds for us, and I’m ready to embrace every moment with open arms. After all, the best is yet to come. ### My Most Memorable Vacation: A Journey to Rourkela URL: https://snayak.com/my-most-memorable-vacation-journey-to-rourkela/ Last updated: 2025-11-16T06:33:12.000Z In 2023, I went on an unforgettable journey to Rourkela with my sister Gudi, Lovely, my uncle, and my aunt. It was a trip filled with laughter, surprises, and memorable experiences that we still cherish to this day. Our adventure kicked off at Veda Vyasa, a place steeped in history and spirituality. Imagine standing at the very spot where the great sage Veda Vyasa is believed to have dictated the Mahabharata! The air was thick with the weight of history, and the tranquil surroundings added to the magic. The confluence of the Koel, Shankha, and Saraswati Rivers formed a serene backdrop, making it feel like we were in a different era, connected to the stories of the past. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/img_0940-copy-1.jpg?w=1024) Next, we visited Hanuman Vatika, which houses a towering statue of Hanuman. The sheer size of the statue was awe-inspiring. As we stood at the foot of this majestic figure, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and reverence. The park around the statue was peaceful, offering a perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of our surroundings. We spent hours there, lost in the tranquility and marveling at the craftsmanship of the statue. ![](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/07/img_0976.jpg?w=1024) Our stay at Pahadi Hotel was equally memorable. When we arrived, we were greeted by the joyous sounds of a wedding celebration. The hotel was alive with music, laughter, and the vibrant energy of the festivities. It created a wonderful atmosphere that added a unique charm to our stay. That evening, we decided to have some fun at the hotel’s swimming pool. We splashed around, played games, and enjoyed the cool water. It was a perfect way to unwind and bond with each other. After our pool adventure, we had a sumptuous dinner, sharing stories and laughter, making the evening even more special. The next day, we embarked on our journey back to Sambalpur. The drive was over 100 kilometers, and somewhere along the way, we realized we had forgotten to bring plates for our lunch. This led to an impromptu roadside picnic. We stood by the side of the road, enjoying our biryani and laughing at our forgetfulness. What could have been a minor inconvenience turned into a fun and memorable experience, reminding us that sometimes the best moments come from unexpected situations. Our trip ended on a high note with a celebration at my aunt’s home in Sambalpur. It was her anniversary, and we were thrilled to be there to celebrate with her. The joy and love in the air were palpable, making it a perfect end to our memorable vacation. This trip to Rourkela was more than just a vacation; it was a journey filled with laughter, surprises, and cherished moments with family. It reminded me that sometimes, the best memories are made in the simplest of moments, and that the joy of travel is as much about the people you share it with as it is about the places you visit. ### Pregnancy Discovery: A New Beginning with Our Little Miracle URL: https://snayak.com/pregnancy-discovery-a-new-beginning-with-our-little-miracle/ Last updated: 2025-04-16T11:47:51.000Z June 26, 2024, is a date etched in my heart. It marks not only the 9th anniversary of my marriage to Rajashree but also the day we discovered we were expecting a baby! On that beautiful day, we reminisced about our journey together, reflecting on the highs and lows, the laughter and tears that had shaped our relationship. This year, our anniversary was filled with unexpected joy and excitement. The news of our upcoming addition to the family added an extra layer of happiness i.e we are expecting a baby, making it truly unforgettable and even more special than any previous celebration. ## Anniversary Plans and a Day at Juhu Beach To celebrate our 9th anniversary, I took the day off to be with Rajashree, whom I affectionately call Lovely. Initially, we planned a visit to South Mumbai, hoping to explore some of our favorite spots and enjoy a special meal. However, due to Lovely feeling a bit under the weather with persistent nausea, we decided it would be best to stay closer to home and visit Juhu Beach instead. We set off at 10 AM on a sunny day, guided by Apple Maps, as we were unfamiliar with the route. The drive was pleasant, filled with conversation and laughter, as we reminisced about our years together. By the time we arrived at Juhu Beach around 1:30 PM, Lovely was quite hungry. After finding a good restaurant and having a satisfying meal, we headed to the beach by 2:30 PM. ![Anniversary Celebration at Juhu Beach](https://snayak.com/content/images/wordpress/2024/02/93906675-76a9-4861-8bdb-2eaa9b02f1d3.png?w=1024) At Juhu Beach, we strolled along the shore, reminiscing about our journey together. The cool breeze and the sound of the waves added to the day’s special charm. We talked about our future and the thrilling news of our baby, making it one of our most memorable anniversaries. We started our journey back home at 4 PM, covering the 26 kilometers to Lodha Crown Quality Homes in Majiwada in about 2 hours due to Mumbai’s heavy traffic. ## Discovering the Miracle That evening, unaware of the miracle awaiting us, Lovely’s ongoing sickness and vomiting had us concerned. Ten days earlier, a pregnancy test had come back negative, so we attributed her illness to a stomach issue. However, to be sure, we decided to take another test. ## The Positive Test and Night of Dreams While on a call with a colleague, Lovely took the test. A few minutes later, she returned with tears in her eyes, revealing the positive result. Initially surprised and confused, we soon embraced, overwhelmed with happiness and excitement, knowing our lives were about to change wonderfully. That night, we couldn’t sleep. We talked for hours about our future, hopes, and dreams for our little one. It felt like the start of a beautiful new chapter. We discussed baby names and how to rearrange our home for the nursery. Lovely had many ideas for decorating the baby’s room, and I was eager to contribute. As the night progressed, our conversation deepened. We talked about the kind of parents we wanted to be, the values we hoped to instill in our child, and creating a loving environment. We promised to support each other through every challenge and cherish every moment of this incredible journey. ## Preparations and Sharing the News The following days were filled with emotions and preparations. We scheduled our first prenatal appointment and started reading about pregnancy and parenting. Every day brought new discoveries, joy, and anticipation. Lovely’s health became our top priority, ensuring she got the rest and nutrition she needed. Sharing the news with our families was unforgettable. We told them in person to witness their reactions firsthand. Their tears, hugs, and overwhelming joy were moments we will always treasure. ## New Routine and Embracing the Journey As weeks passed, we settled into a new routine with doctor visits, prenatal vitamins, and gentle park walks. Every milestone, from the first ultrasound to hearing our baby’s heartbeat, was celebrated with immense joy and gratitude. We began journaling these moments, knowing we would cherish them forever. Preparing for our little miracle added new meaning to our lives. Our love grew stronger, and our bond deepened as we embraced this new phase together. We knew the journey ahead would include challenges and sleepless nights, but we were ready to face them hand in hand, united by love and the promise of a beautiful future. ## Anniversary Reflections and Future Dreams Reflecting on our anniversary, I am reminded of the strength and resilience we have built over the years. Our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and learning, and now, the anticipation of welcoming our baby has added a new dimension to our lives. We often find ourselves daydreaming about the future, imagining the joys and challenges of parenthood, and the many memories we will create as a family. Our conversations are now more on discussions about baby names, nursery themes, and the kind of parents we aspire to be. We want to create a nurturing environment where our child feels loved and supported, and we are committed to teaching them the values that matter most to us—kindness, integrity, and resilience. ## Building a Support Network As first-time parents, we recognize the importance of building a strong support network. We have started reaching out to friends and family who have children, seeking their advice and learning from their experiences. Their insights have been invaluable, providing us with practical tips and emotional support as we navigate this new chapter. We have also joined parenting groups and online communities, where we can connect with other expectant parents and share our journey. These connections have been a source of comfort and reassurance, reminding us that we are not alone in this journey. ## Embracing the Changes As we prepare for our baby’s arrival, we are embracing the changes that come with this new phase of life. Our home is gradually transforming to accommodate our little one, with new furniture, baby gear, and a cozy nursery taking shape. Each step brings us closer to the day we will welcome our baby into our lives. We are also making adjustments to our routines and lifestyles, prioritizing health and well-being to ensure the best possible start for our child. This includes maintaining a balanced diet, staying active, and finding ways to manage stress and stay positive. ## A Journey of Love and Anticipation As we move forward, our journey is one of love, hope, and anticipation. Every day brings us closer to meeting our baby, and with each passing moment, our excitement grows. We are ready to face the challenges and joys of parenthood, knowing that we have each other for support and strength. Our love story continues to evolve, enriched by the promise of a new life and the dreams we hold for our future family. It is a journey of discovery and growth, one that we embrace with open hearts and eager anticipation. June 26, 2024, will always hold a special place in our hearts as the day we celebrated our love and discovered the beautiful miracle of new life. It is a day that marks the beginning of a new chapter, one that we will cherish forever.
